Impossible this is version 9.0, since this error only exists in 10.02 and higher versions designed for Windows XP.

It sounds as if another programme is trying to use the fax facility. Press Ctrl, Alt+Del and when the taskmanager comes up look at the process and programmes tab to see if Winfax pro is running, click on it then click end process.

Does not send the fax from Windows XP via WinfaxPro 10.0

WinFax is no longer offered or supported by Symantec. It may be time to find a different computer fax application - one that is
still worked on and supported by the company that sells it.
There is no fix for your issue at all.

Winfax Pro on Xp - Update to Vista - Winfax data viewer in Vista?

Try FaxTalkPro. It imports WinfaxPro phonebooks and files, and the interface is very similar to WinfaxPro. The link to the trial version is:

Winfax pro 9 dosen't keep program changes

If you attempt to use another user profile, that user cannot change WinFax settings because that user doesn't have write access to the proper WinFax registry locations. Log into the admin account and then change winfax settings. They should then be changed for all users
