Yellow tint I have a yellow tinted jagged halo left center of screen. The inside & outside of the halo appear to be clean. Hitachi 60v710 lcd. Any helpp would be greatly appreciated

This is an indication of a bad Optics engine one of the LCD's in the light engine is bad. The only way to repair this is to replace the light engine assembly.

I have the same tv and the same problem, but my yellow is a cloud around the outside of the screen. My tv was recently moved, and a repair shop told me that sometimes in a move these tvs light engine takes a shock and causes a yellow "band" on the screen. I am hearing that these light engines are not cheap either. Hope this helps you.

We have a Hitachi 60V710 that is almost 5 years old. We have always noticed a bit of yellow haloing but recently our dog has jumped up onto the screen (unfortunately more than once) and now we have notice...

I do not think the Dog broke anything. I do think though the Optical Block assembly needs to be replaced to fix the problem. Do to the cost of repair, I would contact Hitachi to see if they could assist you in the cost and recommending a Service Facility near you to do the work.

The whites are yellow and theres a yellow tint to the picture in general although not real bad. Is this just the lamp # ux21513 needing to be replaced? Thank You

The Lamp would cause the picture to be dimmer but not discolored. I would suspect the Optical Engine is causing the yellowish tint. Due to the cost of replacing, call Hitachi at
1800-448-2244 and see if they would be willing to help with the repair.

Yelowing in screen

I contacted Hitachi about this problem and they were very cooperative with me. They agreed to replace the light engine. When I mentioned that I had done some reseach on the internet and saw that they repaced the light engine and covered the cost of labor for some other customers, they said that they would submit a request for the labor for the repair. As it turned out Hitachi covered the part and labor for the repair. I first contacted Hitachi in March 2009, By mid May the service-center recieved the part and performed the repair.
