What is going on? I have an Avaya 5420 connected to a general office system. The park button stopped working so I unplugged it from the wall and plugged back in, which worked yesterday, and now there is no service, no dial tone, nothing. All other phones in the office work. There is nothing wrong with the phone cord, wall jack, phone cord input, or headset input. We have a license for our phones, CLEARLY, because all the others work.

Definity systems can have so many different types of phones. Can you plug another 64xx phone in and it works?
SOURCE: avaya phone not working
Yes, check the wiring. Sounds like the blue pair isnt working at that jack.
What happens when you plug that phone into the extension port of the system?
SOURCE: need longer cord... none work
make sure that extension cord 2 pair copper or 4 conductor.
If your phone works from the jack using the correct extension cord is essential.
SOURCE: do avaya 8400 series phones work on the avaya ip
Yes, 84xx is an analog phone, so you will need an analog phone port.
SOURCE: No dial tone, ring on newly installed Avaya
The first thing to do is to verify that it is actually extension 10 and that it has the right lines programmed to it. Theis can be done by pressing feature 00. The display will say "programming'and the extension number that it's plugged into. While in programming mode press the line keys to verify that they are the correct lines. press feature 00 to exit programming.

Before freaking out and saying you did nothing, slow down, and try to understand the system you are using. You are using a 5410, so one would assume that you are using an IP Office. IP Office does not require a license for a digital phone (54xx series phones are digital). Does the phone power up? Have you tried plugging it into another port that had a different phone working in it?
