Ok well I had a problem similar to yours. Mine just turned off completely during a song and won't turn on, no blue light, nothing. I held the power button or menu for about 15 seconds and it popped back on with everything still loaded on it.

My sansa e260 goes black after showing sandisk start up screen and does the same when plugged into a pc. it starts to refresh database and then the screen goes black.

Hi there

When you say the screen goes black even after disconnecting the device from computer it could be an issue with the firmware.
It might need to have updated firmware. To get the updated firmware please go www.sandisk.com.

Where you can get the latest firmware for your model.
*** Make sure when you update the firmware keep the device in MSC mode.

Here is the link for updating the firmware:

My sansa fuze screen goes black whenever i move the wheel or push a button. it comes back on in aprox 5 seconds but as soon as a buttons push of wheels turn it goes black.

I have the same problem.

Only work around I found was installing Rockbox, then in the settings turning off the wheel light.

Seemed guessing cable issue?? once wheel light when out, the screen would come back.

1 Other User Has The Same Problem Posted by DEEDEE0809 on May 06, 2008I HAVE A SANSA SANDISK 1GB AND I HAVE FULLY CHARGED
IT AND I WOULD LIKE TO KNOW HOW I RESET IT

You can do a hard reset by pressing and holding down the Select button (it's a silver square on mine) while pressing the volume + and - buttons simultaneously once.

Let me know if this helps. It didn't seem to fix my problem!

Screen is not turning on

Try connecting the device to your computer without the battery. If the device shows up under My Computer, right click on it and select format. This will delete all the music on the device. If it does not show up, you will need to call SanDisk to have a firmware file sent out. SanDisk Technical Support 1-866-726-3475 Best of Luck.
