When my best friend was printing on her printer, it was printing in purple. Now, I just uninstalled it and I thought that she had the disk. How do I re install it without the disk and how come when she goes to print, it prints in purple and not what is on the screen?

Re: Installing without the disk
Here is the page to download drivers for your printer. Just click on the link for the appropriate operating system you need: http://downloads.lexmark.com/cgi-perl/downloads.cgi?ccs=229:1:0:525:0:0&emeaframe=&target=http://downloads.lexmark.com/cgi-perl/downloads.cgi&target=http://downloads.lexmark.com/cgi-perl/downloads.cgi&&req=:::::
As far as why is it printing purple it could be several reasons but some common ones are; you?ve run out of a particular ink color, one of your ink jets could be clogged or damaged, your cartridge was refilled wrong and on occasionally a software driver gets messed up.
Reinstall your printer, do a test and if it still prints purple try running your printers nozzle cleaning utility. If that fails post another questions and give us some history, how long has it been since you?ve printed, are you using new Lexmark or refilled cartridges and any other pertinent information.

You should be able to cure this in the driver setup. You will find hue and saturation settings there. A reset of the printer will make no difference. If your nozzles are all good and clear and u are using genuine ink tanks then it will just be the driver. You could uninstall the driver and download the appropriate driver from the canon site. When i say uninstall I mean uninstall and not delete. Also do a restart before installing the new driver with the usb cable disconnected. Also the program you are printing with can make a difference. Photoshop is usually the best. Calibrate your monitor as well.
► do a L4 uninstallation i.e. by putting the disk for printer.... explore and go to Util and then CCC ... then select uninstallL4
► restart the comp
► download the driivers from Hp.com and then install it
► restart the comp

My Canon printer has TWO slots for black ink cartridges. I assumed one was extra and didn't replace it when I ran out. Text printed just fine with only one installed, but my photos were printing with purple instead of black. I looked into it, and the two cartridges are different: one holds dye-based ink, the other has pigment based. Photos must require both kinds. If your printer is the same as mine, use both!
My first recommendation is to carry a printer self test. Use the Menu on the front panel to do this ok. If both printers succeed in self test then the problem is reduced. Uninstall the previous drivers for these printers. Connect the printer data cable(USB) to the pc and check for communication. that is, whether or not it is detected by the pc's OS. This should be done one after the other on different ports. If the two printers are attached to same pc, I recommend you use a combination of USB and Parallel printer cables. If communication is successful then detach both cables from the pc. Install the drivers for the USB printer without attaching it to the pc. Then attach when prompted. That way, the printer is guaranteed. For the printer on the parallel port, connect it and install the drivers while attached to the pc. If nothing happens still, you should consider leaving only a printer on the pc. Good luck
Uninstall and reinstall printer software if you still have your disk...
clean each cartridge and goto the properties on your printer settings and be sure they are set to default.. this should take care of the problem.. let me know how it goes..
The top site is for the printer drivers the second site is the users manual.
Let me know what happens.
