Philps 30pf9946 I have got sound but only a blank blue mute screen on the above model Philips TV.30pf9946 When I did see the screen before the blue mute came up there was no horizontal or vitical sync. Could you point me in the right direction. Thanks.

Show a flashlight on the screen from a safe distance and check whether you can see the picture. If you can, the backlight is not working. Then I suggest it is better to refer it to a qualified service
technician, since the back cover has to be opened for investigation/rectification.

You turn on the tv and for a fraction of a second the screen flashes blue then it goes black you can still hear the audio and change channels but no picture philis 30pf9946d/37

try to check the cathode lights of your plasma it might be busted.

I am trying to hook the Philips 30pf9946 up to an HD Tivo

I am wondering what you are making the connection with, If you are using s-video or composite from your tivo to your hd tv it will only produce 480i. in order to get 480p and above you will need a component video cables or better(hdmi) in order to produce the signal. You may have already known this, but I couldnt tell be the information provided. Hope this helps.

You have sound but no picture. Green power light is on and NOT flashing. You get a screen flash or flicker on power-up or even a minute of screen before going all black. It is your inverter board. Common problem on LCDs (maybe more so on Phillips?). They are easy to replace (unplug-plug) and are available on the net.
