Thanks, I figured that's what the problem was so I replaced the valve this morning and it seems to be working fine now.

Chances are that the dual water control valve on the ice maker side is defective and not shutting off all the way allowing water to slowly leak by and mess up the freezer with frozen water everywhere. The replacement part is=> WR57X10051 Water Inlet Valve
The water will not stop flowing into the ice tray - 7_12_2012_5_26_54_am.jpg

If the water is simply an extended over fill after ice maker refills that will be caused by the ice maker itself. WR30X10093 Ice Maker Assembly

SOURCE: GE Artica PSS29NGNA no ice is being / no water flow on ice side

It is possible the water control valve on the back of the refrigerator is defective. When the thermostat in the ice maker tells the water control valve to ope after dumping the ice. Try filling the ice maker with tap water and let it freeze and cycle one time. It is also possible that the fill tube for the ice maker has frozen shut because of the slow continious flow of a leaking water control valve. You can try to clear the ice with a hair dryer, but if the control valve continues to let water buy will have another damaged ice maker. The part number for the water control valve is WR57X10032 and you can enter parts numbers and model numbers on the search feature at the link below. Let me know how thing are and if you were able to get this under control, I am here to help if you like, sorry I just today saw your post, Thanks, Sea Breeze

SOURCE: no ice from icemaker

Read the manual and see if the icemaker has a thermostat that prevents the admission of water into the tray if the freezer temp is too high. Also..make sure the ice level bar is down.

New turn tap on to fill water and ice up .water goes everywhere through ice maker and into freezer

Sounds like the solenoid that controls the water flow is open. This solenoid operates electrically to stop the water flow after the ice cube tray fills. With out the manufacturer, model, and age of unit I can not offer more information.

Why is my Uline ice maker filling with water not ice ?

At first I wanted to say it has to fill with water to make ice but I know you mean the ice bin is filling with water. You either have an issue with the water control valve leaking or your timer isn't working properly. Listen for the water to flow and when it seems to shut off look at the tray fill spout and see if it actually stopped dripping. If it continues to drip (not flow normally) then the valve is leaking. If it isn't dripping but the water in the ice tray over flowed, then the issue is either with the timer or the adjustment is incorrect.

Manitowok ID0452A-161 water not draining one water tray is filled causing water to over flow into ice bin melting ice. Need to know where the float switch is and dump valve solenoid. FOR TROUBLESHOOTING

Remove side panel on left. Dump valve and drain hose usually blocked with silt, but may be dump valve coil open circuit. No float switch, water level sensor above tray.

My ice maker on my Kenmore Elite has stop making ice. The water still works, but it no longer will make ice. What can be wrong with it, and how can I fix it?

If the water flow works, I would check the wire that controls the water flow to the icemaker. It shuts off the water when the tray is full and fills the ice maker when it senses that more ice is needed. It typically is over the ice tray. This can be dislodged and reseating it will solve the problem.
Let me know if this doesn't solve the problem. Thanks.

Brand new ice maker, water fill to tray will not shut off

The new ice maker should tell the dual water valve on rear of refrigerator to turn on if the tray makes a complete cycle. So the new ice maker is defective or the water valve on back is stuck open that leads up to the ice maker. Unplug the wires to the water control valve on back of the refrigerator and then turn the ice maker on. If the water continues to flow I recommend replacing the water valve. If the water stops coming to the ice maker I recommend returning the new ice maker. You only need to unplug the side of the water control valve leading to the ice make. I also recommend a pre-filter for the incoming water before the water control valve. Makes the water and ice better and keeps trash from damaging the water control valve. Let me know your results or if you need more assistance, Thanks, Sea Breeze

Overfilling ice tray with water

Does the water eventually stop flowing? If not, your solenoid valve is sticking open and defective. If you also have ice and water through the door, this is a dual solenoid valve. If it does eventually stop, your ice maker could be sticking in fill mode. Either way this could be a potential for a flood. I would recommend replacing both.

Water doesnt stop after ice tray is filled

there is a micro switch in the ice maker motor module that shuts power off to the ice-maker water valve when the ice maker is full but i rarely see them go bad this is the easy way to deal with it pull the unit out unplug both the valves and turn the water on a sec if its running in the ice maker with the valves are unplugged then replace the valves if its not replace the ice-maker motor module
