i was thinking there is a problem with the colour wheel, maybe as it heats up ( environment right now is 46 degrees celcius) something goes wring with its motor. i have tried leaving the fan on directly but it did not seem to help!

From my experience repairing projectors he problem is the DMD CHIP is bad. In short, the DMD chip or DLP chip has thousands of tiny mirrors that turn on & off in a twisting motion to reflect the image onto the screen. What happens is the DMD chip breaks down do to high heat , wear, and bad manufacturing. Unfortunately, the DMD chip has to be replaced & it's usually but not always a pricey part. If you need a replacement part or would like it serviced for you I can give you a price for either service. Pls contact me with your name, make & model projector & what the problem seems to be & I'll give you a fair price for a used or new part or repair.

DVD Playback is only Black & White

Different areas use different colour systems. The most common types being PAL and NTSC. What I think you might have done is changed the colour type setting to one that is not compatible with your TV. If you have the manual look up the colour settings. If you haven't got the manual look around the main menu for them. If all else fails use the factory reset.

The picture is displaying in black and white rather than color. I switched to cable to make sure it wasn't the tv and the picture was in color. The system is a Sony RM-SS251

simple. unplug every thing. and wait 2 minutes before you plug back in. but in those 2 minutes, check your hook up connections by pulling them off. shuffle them around like dominoes. and then plug them back in. enjoy!

Colour spots

turn your color all the way down and observe the black and white, contrast and grays . should be crisp. if sorted looks still like blurry grays with little contrast...... your problem lies in the video processing circuit.

Intense white & coloured horizontal line on black background on startup

I wouldn't attempt as the capacitors on a tv store around 25000 volts this is more than enough to kill you and they keep there charge even when the tv is off. Either take it to a repair shop or put that money towards buying a new tv - Do not even attempt to open the tv. (It sounds like maybe a tube has gone or the electromagnet that makes the beam move vertically is gone.

Samsung tv settings

it depends on what your using it for, adjust colour tones to what you think looks natural, contrast between 80-90, keep sharpness below 30. just have a play around till you find what best suits the source material.

Lg 32lc2r, only showing picture in black and white

Make sure that the color control level is set to the default or 50% to start with. This should be in the Video menu.

The colour for the tuner and for the encoded base-band video uses a circuit area called the colour demodulator. It is possible that this cirucuit area has failed and needs servicing.
