Canon IRC3200-RIP board not work and unknown brand

I have a Canon IRC3200 imageRunner and also what looks likes a rip board/box attached to the back of the unit which I can’t get going nor identify.

Two questions:
1. How do I identify what this box is i.e. brand and how to I get details including a manual for it etc. Box is the same colour as printer (cream coloured). The box has a main PCB board with no obvious brand marking though it has lots of FPGA chipsets. Harddrive is attached inside of lid. It has a parallel port, network TCP/IP some indicator lights diagnostics dip switches next to the UDP cable that plugs into the main printer.

2. I can’t print to it VIA parallel port or TCP/IP. There are no icons in the main configuration panel under ''Other Options'' and very little details in the manual. The only
network setting I can see is under general settings and can setup LDAP server but nothing like setup a TCP/IP or parallel port etc. I think the menu item is missing.

When I start the machine up a picture of the printer with the network box has an error saying that its connected like the printer and scanner but thats it.

There is a software version number printed on a sticker attached to the side of the box if this would help but no other markings.

Any ideas what it is and how to get it going?

I'd appreciate any guidance as I'm stuck and I really need to get printing from my computer.

Thanks again

Cant get the canon imagerunner c3220 to print from imac macosx -10

This is a tricky one. The newer MAC OSX does not like the older printer drivers. It usally requires extra software from Apple to deal with these products. Now that being said it should load by itself. I can tell you without a doubt you can not use the self installer as it will fail each and every time. To keep it simple get ip address of the iRC3220 and go in to you printer install and point it to the PPD file which you can get from the Canon website. Final point... There is a different PPD for iRC3200 with Fiery (C1 print controllers) and one without. They are not cross compatible. You will see iRC3200 with C1 and one just saying iRC3200. Pick the right one. Oops one more point the Queue name will be just the word print. Good Luck.

I can not copy an audio CD into my computer!

You can't copy Audio CD's to a hard drive. The .cda format is meant for only CD's. You have to rip them to some other format for a hard drive to recognize (such as .wma or .mp3).

How to rip an Audio CD using Windows Media Player

QUICK RIP
You can do a quick rip if the "AutoPlay" menu comes out when you insert a disk in your computer's DVD/CD drive.

One of the options under AutoPlay is to "Rip Music From CD (using Windows Media Player)" which will automatically launch Windows Media Player and the Rip menu. Make sure you uncheck the "Always do this for Audio CDs" box so your computer doesn't automatically launch the Rip menu every time you insert a CD (i.e. in case you just want to listen to a CD next time).

Start the ripping process by clicking on the "Start Rip" button (e.g. in Windows Media Player 11, for example, it's on the lower right once you're in the Rip menu). You'll also have an option to use your Internet connection and have Windows Media Player automatically find details about the CD you're using so you don't have to fill out album and song details yourself (for this tutorial, let's assume that you're not connected to the Internet, which means you'll end up with an unknown album with unknown songs). You'll know the ripping process is done once all the songs show "Ripped to library" under "Rip status."

By default, Windows Media Player will rip your tunes in WMA format and save it in your "Music" folder. You can access the folder by clicking on the Windows logo at the bottom left of your computer's screen. For Windows XP, for example, it'll be the "Start" button. For Windows Vista or Windows 7, it's the circular icon with the Windows four-panel graphic that looks like a waving flag.
Clicking the "Start" button in Windows XP will bring up a menu box with "My Music" as one of the options. For Vista, clicking on the Windows button will bring up a menu with "Music" as one of your options. Anyway, clicking on either of those choices will open your music folder. Look under Unknown Artist and you should be able to find the Unknown Album you just ripped. Once you find the songs, you can rename them one by one.
To do a normal rip, let's go to the next step.

NORMAL RIP
For more options, like changing your ripped music's format to MP3 or changing the folder where you save your music, you can do a normal rip.

Start by launching Windows Media Player yourself via the "Programs" option by clicking on either the "Start Menu" tab in Windows XP or the Windows logo in Vista or Windows 7 (both at the lower left of your screen). Insert your music CD. (To simplify things, just cancel and close down the "Autoplay" menu in case it shows up.)

Once you're in the Rip menu, click on the Rip tab to bring up a list of options. "Format" lets you pick between Windows Media Audio formats, WAV, and the more popular MP3 format. The WMA and WAV both have "lossless" format options, which means the music will be ripped with no loss in quality. The MP3 format, meanwhile, offers wider compatibility with portable music players and smaller file sizes but sacrifices a certain amount of quality depending on the bit rate of your file. This brings us to the "Bit Rate" button, which basically lets you pick the quality of the rip. The default for bit rate is 128 Kbps. Note that the higher the bit rate you pick, the better the quality you'll get, but you'll also get a larger file size.

The rip on the copier is flashing FF and I am not able to print. What can I do to solve this problem?

Hello. The FF is a hexadecimal number that means the rip did not boot properly. There are buttload of reasons why this my be but lets try this. Power off the copier and the Fiery emulator (rip).Power on the copier only and let it reach aready condition. Then energize the rip and watch the same display that showed the FF.It may take a minute or two as it goes thru its boot/diagnostics,but we hope you dont get the FF again. Now I am assuming that what we are talking about is a previously configured system that had been working fine until recently. If this is so,and the rip does not operate correctly after the directions I just gave then you probably need to re-load the rip's system software.

Neither the finisher or lower paper cassettes are detected by my iRC3200 anymore. Both have been fine, and just recently stopped being detected. I've tried restarting and reseating the cables between the...

There is a inter lock on the sorter when you attach it to the copier that is not being pushed in and you minht have a sheet of paper in the back of cassettes. Pull the cassettes out and look in the back of the copuer.
