When not in use overnight the machine's drum filled with water. Any idea why this is happening and how to rectify it? The machine is a dryer also and I was wondering whether it is something to do with the filter. In previous machines I've had the dryer filter had to be removed and cleaned regulalry to keep the machine working efficiently. However with this one there seems no obvious access to the filter.
There are 2 possible problems here. 1. If your waste pipe is connect under the sink and uses the sinks waste as a drain it could be that water from the sink (or dishwasher if also fitted) is entering the machine via the waste. This can be cured by ensuring that the washing machine waste hose is hooked up higher than the connection under the sink. 2. It could be that the washing machine inlet valve need replacing. After time, or if bits of dirt enter them they can let water seep through. This is easily identified by turning off the water supply where the hoses are connected to. If the machine fills up then you know it is entering via the waste hose - if it doesn't then you know its one of the valves. If it is a valve they are available from us at www.ransomspares.co.uk

The drum fills up with water when not in use. Not all the time only a few times.
