I have the Fuji FinePix Z1, the battery is not staying charged for a long period of time, always having to charge it, is it time for a new battery??

  • Anonymous Dec 16, 2008

I tried a new battery in mine and the issues continued. I feel it is an internal battery because the date and time are totally wiped out as well. Just opened it up and found no backup battery. Bummed.

Generally Lithium-Ion camera batteries will last around 1-2 years. The batteries have a "memory", meaning that after a certain number of charges they begin to hold less of a charge. If your camera is still under the manufacturers warranty you can contact your manufacturer for assistance, otherwise most places you can buy digital cameras carry replacement batteries, but it is definitely time for a new one.

Little power

What d you mean with batteries are added?
When you use batteries, always make sure all four are from the same brand, quality, capacity and if possible, from the same batch. Never use different batteries in one camera.
lways charge sets of batteries (2 or 4) together.
Do not use alkaline batteries unless it is absolutely necessary. In some (most) cases, alkaline batteries may have a shorter service life than NiMH. Alkaline battery performance is limited, especially at low temperatures. The use of NiMH batteries is recommended.
Never use manganese (Zinc-Carbon) batteries in your camera.
Always be sure the battery is charged and suited for your camera.
Check contacts of the battery and in the battery compartment of your camera. Dirty or oxidised contacts can be cleaned with a dry cloth. Never use sharp tools to clean contacts or anything in or on your camera.
Always charge the battery before using it for the first time, or if you have not used it for a long period. 3 months is a very long period.

Battery doesn't fully charge. Over three years. Do I need a new battery and if so how much are they?

I have the same problem, maybe. My Z1 worked fine for maybe 4 years, it was a rebuilt one with original battery. After much use, videos etc, I replaced the battery and even bought a charger. This has not really helped. When I slide it open I get zoom error. When I press the button to review and set format it goes off while I am in the process of setting the date. What to do? Jan 12, 2011

When i charge my camera i get a red light come on but other than that absolutely nothing. Is this a problem with the battery?

If you can turn on the camera while charging you can see the charging indicator on the LCD monitor which will indicate the level of charge the battery is currently at.

Fuji Finepix 470batteries only last a very short time. Previously

Most of time it is a battery problem.... try with another battery, before purchasing new one....
If another battery does not works then get it serviced.
Battery has certain time period life (mostly it is expressed in, "no. of times charge") after that battery power deteriorates...
Or if battery has been water clogged then also battery power deteriorates.... (for water clogging may happens exposure of battery to humid conditions)

Fuji finepix Z1 has DSC on screen ?

Hi and welcome to FixYa.

The reason it doesn't charge properly is probably due to age of the battery. Over time, they charge less and less. You need to replace the battery.

DSC Mode means you can access your card.

There is not enough room to explain every step to moving your pictures to the pc. Please refer to your manual to learn how to do this. If you have any other questions you can leave me a comment.

Have fun with your camera,

Rob

No power Fuji F10

The symptom of light staying on briefly then going off suggest the battery is dead. If you bought a new battery did you put it in correctly? turn it around and try again.

Fuji FinePix F700 LCD & Zoon Lens

Is the battery fully charged? Or is the battery near the end of its useful life? Some batteries hold a charge better than others-- I have 2, both used well, and one seems to last longer than the other...

Black screen

This is a CCD sensor ( see pic below from Canon camera with same pixalage and specs ) problem : outputting too much noise or nothing at all so the sensor must be replaced ( not a big job but ha sto be done by someone with experience and the right parts ). Fuji will repair free of charge , if I am not mistaken, so you need to contact your Fuji agent .b16210b.jpg
