So far, in my Motorola RAZR V3(cingular) everything works except for making/receiving calls. I know it's not my sim card because it works on any cingular phone. Anyway, the problem is anyone who make calls to me, goes to my voice mail box instead of sending the call to receive on my phone. Most times when I try to make a call, it says after 20 sec. "Call Failed". I have also noticed after being fully charged it easily makes the battery weak when I make calls that do work. It does however work both making and receiving calls when the phone is being charged. Could it be the battery causing all my dropped and calls that won't go through? Sometimes even when it is fully charged with the charger still in it, it drops my call.

alot of guys that sell "unlocked " phones sell a regular network-specific phone but they'll include a universal unlock wafer-thin sim that fits in your phone between your sim card and the phone contacts. Look in the box ..if you still got it look for a plastic sd card sized container and see if there's one with you phone... if not you can get one on ebay for about ten bucks.. let me know what happens... I had the EXACT same problem this morning. After leaving the cingular store where the guy just wanted to sell me a new phone, I went home and took the phone apart - just took off the battery cover, battery, sim card and the rest of the back cover, reattached cover, put everything back together and everything works fine now! Try it - good luck! You need a T5 torx bit to remove the two screws holding on the back cover.
It sounds like your phone is not unlocked. Did you get the phone through a different provider and your sim card through some one else? For ex, here in US, a cingular SIM will not work in a Sprint phone.
whoever unlocked your phone didn't do it right and you'll need to have your firmware reflashed onto the phone. Just have a professional do this cause it is far too easy for someone unexperienced to mess up the phone.
This happens alot to my phone... I take my sim card and put it in a spare cell phone that i have and then switch it back into my razr, it works everytime
i also had this problem a while ago, all i did was leave my phone off... (even took the battery out... and the sim card) and after a few days.. it worked!!
