it recognize it as a storage device. when its plugged in if it shows an external device or unrecognized device found you have to download the software to connect it . try to download it via www.piratesbay.com as there are more software's . make sure you type your model no when searching to download

Save first your audio file to wav file format, then open it using Windows Media Player...

The max SD card capacity is 256Mb.

I found that Holding the power button for about 6-10 seconds will force it to turn off. If you plug it into the computer while it's off it was recognized. The RCA software didn't recognize it, but when I doubleclicked the drive in "my computer" it asked me to Format. after I formated, I unplugged it and plugged it back in, and the RCA software picked up the device

Try this: disconnect the player from the computer, turn it off, hold in the volume + button, and reconnect the player to the computer while holding the volume + button in. Keep holding the volume + button for an additional 5-50 seconds. Windows should eventually go into recovery mode and revive the player- it will pop up a window that says Found New Hardware Wizard.

Mine didn't recognize either, so what I did is go into the device manager, find the opal in the listings, double-click, disabled the device, re-enabled it, at which time it shows that there's a firmware error. I then re-installed the driver from the cd, unplugged the opal, plugged it back in, and for whatever reason, the computer then recognized the opal as a mass storage device, instead of a portable music player. The computer now sees it everytime, and all I have to do is drag and drop any files I want into the opal. Works like a charm. Hopefully RCA will provide an updated firmware program in the near future, but this might work for you for now. Good luck!

after pluggin it on to ur computer,go to device manager and scaan for new hardware changes..this should detect your player

Press the Erase button, it will start flashing, keep pressing until the flashing stops and the file will be gone.
