You can find the owner's manual for this set online at: http://www.zenithservice.com/gcsc/b2c/hpi/main?tc=owm.command.OwmCmd It says that the BOTTOM four connectors are: 1. S-Video IN 2. Video IN 3. Audio (Right) IN 4. Audio (Left) IN Above the Audio IN connectors are two audio OUT connectors, which you could hook to external speakers, your stereo, etc. But these are not needed for hooking up your DVD player. From your DVD player, you need to hook up either the S-Video or Video connection (Video is typically the Yellow wire), plus the Audio connections (Red and White). If your DVD player has an S-Video output, this will give you a better picture than the standard Video connection. S-Video cables have a different plug, with four or five wires in the connector, and are keyed so they only fit into the socket in one orientation. Be careful to line it up properly and not force it in the wrong way.

Oh, and the TV/VCR/Source button on the remote will switch you between watching channels from your cable/antenna connection and your DVD input.

II HAVE A 13 INCH BRAND MODEL DWT 1304. I JUST WANT TO USE IT FOR A DVD PLAYER. I HAVE NO REMOTE ,HOW DO I CHANGE THE TV TO PLAY DVD OR VEDIO

Connect the composite video RCA (yellow) cable output of the DVD player to the TV's video input RCA (yellow jack). Connect the red and white RCA cable from the DVD players audio output to the TV's audio input (red and white jacks). Select the source input from the TV's control panel - if it has an input selector switch, set it to select the video source from the front panel input jacks if you connected the three cables - yellow, red and white on the front of the set. Or, change the channel to receive the video auxiliary input source instead of the broadcast station.

I have a 1994 zennith TV/VCR COMBO I am trying to connect a dvd player to. I have one yellow video cord and one double stranded audio red/white cord. I can not get a picture. Vcr player does still work.

Connect yellow from DVD to TV. Connect white and red cables from DVD to TV. Yellow to yellow, white to white etc. Then select on the TV using the remote, the proper input (where the DVD is connected) Press PLAY on the DVD player.

I do not find a vedio/audio(red, yellow, white)ports to connect to my DVD player. What is the alternative way to connect to my DVD player using this TV? Thanks

There are 5 RCA connectors on the back of this TV, (according to the manual). The lower three from left to right are Video in, Audio Left in, Audio Right in. There are also two RCA connectors above these that are the L/R audio outputs. Also, there is an S-Video input which I would recommend using instead of the RCA Video in. You'll still need to use the RCA inputs, but the S-Video will give you the best video connection into this monitor.

Zenith TV has no place for yellow, red, white composite plugs

This TV doesn't have an AV input, so there are no input jacks other than the antenna connector. If you want to connect a device that has only AV outputs (your red, white and yellow plug) you will need an RF converter. This will take the AV signals and convert them to a channel 3 or 4 signal you can tune in on the set.

But since you don't seem interested in spending any money, you'll probably not like to hear that the converter runs around $15 most places. Take heart, there is an alternative. Find a VCR (if you don't have one already) that has an RF output. Many of the the newer DVD/VCR combos only have AV outputs. You're looking for one that has an "out to TV" threaded connector on the back. These units already have an RF converter built in. Connect your AV plugs to the line in jacks on the VCR and switch to that input, and you can use your video game or DVD player through the VCR.

Zenith SMS1943S made 1995 Need code to switch to dvd status

nleebrooks,

1) check the RCA cable connection from your DVD to TV screen.
make sure that each cable is in the right place (for DVD player yellow cable = video/ red and white cable = audio) (TV screen: yellow cable = video IN /white and red = audio IN

2) from your TV screen locate and check for A/V IN socket. it's either at the back/front or side of the screen.

note: some of TV screen does have 2 A/V inputs

3) Facing the front of your TV screen, locate a button indicating "A/V" or "AV" or a box picture having a forward arrow inside.

note: if you locate the said button and your screen have 2 A/V inputs press the said button until the right input where you connect your dvd cable been set.

cheers,
mark

Hooking up a dvd player

as you say that it is old tv so there is a possibility that there may not be audio video socket where dcd player can be connected. OR You will have to purchase one video RF converter.RF converter contains one video input in yellow color & two audio input in red & white colour & one cable connector as output. Connect the dvd output to this converter & tune tv program in which place you receive dvd signal.
