Question about Whirlpool Ultimate Care II LSQ9549L Top Load Washer
I have Ultimate Care II washer (8 cycles, 5 speed, quiet wash). After the spin cycle, cloths remain wet, especially when there is larger load. A repair man saw it and said it is "transmission" problem and is charging $280 for it. Is it worth fixing it or buying a new one? I am quite handy...is it easy to fix? If so, what part should I buy... I didn't see "transmission" in part list. Thanks.
This is a direct drive washer and the trans is not hard to replace. You want to make sure it is the trans giving you the problem. The trans is covered for 5 years under warranty parts only. Other problems could be a worn spin tube, brake or clutch. Did the washer loose its nuetral drain? If your washer is over 8 years old, maybe it's time for a new one. Otherwise, check out the link for the trans. http://www.repairclinic.com/0080.asp Catriver..post back.
