You may have the wrong keyboard selected. Try holding down the code key while pressing the L(lang) key.Release the L key and continue holding down the code key while you type the keyboard code number. USA keyboard is 001.

Lexmark wheelwriter 3500 indicates code 215.

215 is print wheel error. Remove the printwheel look for dirt and debris in that area, if you have a compressed air source blow thw P/W area out. If these don't work the printwheel sensor is likely bad.

2 line space lights blinking will not do anything

First you don't have a 3500 as it has no lights to blink if it is a WW1000 there is a very good chance your key board is bad. You can try my tip under WW1000 or contact Geo. Byters Co. for a KB rebuild

I have an IBM Wheelwriter 3500 by Lexmark. The icon in the window shows a box with an upper left to lower right slash with the number 121. It turns on, beeps and will not allow anything to work. Help!

Error Code 121 means the keyboard is not recognized, check the connectors from the keyboard to be sure they are plugged in properly.

Try this turn it off remove the batteries, wait 30 sec. turn on all settings will go to default, memory will be cleared for any fault code stored.

Tell us news.

If it does hold the code key, press and release the "L" key type 001 release the "L" key this sets the keyboard to U.S., if this works the cure is to replace the keyboard.

Error 121

121 says that the keyboard is not supported which means that the K.B. is bad. To get around this hold the code key, press & relase the "L" key type 001 rel the code key this sets the T/W to a US keyboard. You will have to do this until you replace the keyboard or repair it see my tip under WW1000.
