You can't directly play FLV files on your DVD player. You need to convert and burn the FLV files on a DVD disc. Leawo FLV to DVD Converter is the best choice for you. Just like its Mac version, the Windows edition provides multiple user-friendly features for burning FLV to DVD, including convert FLV to DVD-9/DVD-5, edit FLV videos and disc menu, choose to create either NTSC or PAL DVD video, etc.

Usually means the lens needs cleaning. Occasionally, it's a case of the drive binding. Try running a lens cleaner through it first. You'll want the type that's got optical quality brushes built in to the bottom of the disk.

If that doesn't fix it, it's likely a drive issue, which means it's time for replacing the unit - costs more to fix than replace.

Play flash(flv/f4v) videos on iPad 2

The newly released iPad 2 does look like a very well-designed and beautiful device. It may be used to search the Internet, watch movies and videos, listen to music, use art programs, read/send e-mail, read e-books, play games, keep a calendar, watch TV, use maps, or to look at and organize photos. The iPad, however, won't run flash content at all. That means you won't be able to watch videos from Hulu and the adobe flash is kept away from your touch. Still you could watch the flash videos downloaded from Youtube or Hulu on iPad------Pavtube FLV Converter could convert flash videos (*.flv, *.f4v) to H.264 or MPEG-4 encoded videos that are compatible with iPad. The following guide tells how to <a href="http://wannasoft.com/Pavtube-Video-Converter/">convert flash videos to play on iPad 2</a> with Pavtube FLV Converter. <br /><br /><br /><b>Step 1. Run <a href="http://wannasoft.com/Pavtube-Video-Converter/">FLV to iPad Converter</a></b> <b>and load in flash videos. <br /></b>First, you Install the FLV Converter and get your FLV files ready,<b> </b>run the app<b> </b>and click "Add" button to import FLV files to the app (or simply drag the source files to file list.) Double-click on it if you'd like to preview a file or take some snapshots. <br /><br /><b>Step 2. Set output format to be compatible with iPad</b> <br />You will then tick the format bar and choose an appropriate format for iPad. MP4, MOV, M4V encoded with H.264 and MPEG-4 are available. Specify output format and next output path. Click on "Settings" button in case you wanna change its codec, bitrate, size, frame rate, audio channel, etc. For example, set audio codec as AAC. <br /><br /><img src="convert-flash-video-to-play-on-ipad_clip_image002.jpg" /> <br /><br /><b>Step 3. Convert the FLV, F4V videos</b> <br />When all these are done, you can click "Convert" button to start. If you'd like to put some flashes into one file, simply check the box "Merge into one file" before clicking "Convert". I got a nb501sl9.. doesnt play burned dvds.. says "please eject playback may not be a option.." tried burning firmware to update... still does not read the disc burned on dvd+r. Says the same...

Maybe this model does not support DVD+R, or the discs you have been using may not have been finalised in other equipment prior to playback in this unit.

Try using finalised DVD-R discs instead. They should work in this player, if not, then it probably does not support burned DVD media.

Nothing you can do, except purchase an el-cheapo DVD player (alongside this one) which can read DVD-R/DVD+R and other burned media.

PartI. Difference between FLV and SWF
PartII. How to play FLV and SWF on mac
PartIII. How to convert FLV to SWF on mac

PartI. FLV VS. SWF

What is FLV?

FLV files (Flash Video Files), a binary file format, are composed of a video bit stream and an audio bit stream and deliver web video over the Internet with Macromedia Flash Player. FLV files are considered to be streaming video files. If you put FLV file in website, you don't have to download the entire file before playing. FLV content may also be embedded within SWF files. The audio and video data within FLV files are encoded in the same way as they are within SWF files. Unlike SWF format, FLV do not have maximum of 16000 frames limitation and ideally for large video file size. Notable users of the FLV format files are YouTube, Yahoo video, Google Video, Reuters.com, My Space, Facebook video etc.

What is SWF?

SWF (Shockwave Flash)- The file format SWF is a vector graphics file format, not streaming media. SWF file can be played directly in web browser, such as Internet Explorer. However, FLV file can not be playback directly, because it requires a separate SWF file which reads the video content from FLV. The SWF file that plays FLV file is called online flash player. A dvd+r disk I burnt using Nero7 will not play on my dvd player (the extention file of burnt file is .flv

Try converting the file first. Many converters are avaiable online. Assure that it can take FLV (Flash based files) and export as MPEG (or DVD standard) to maximize compatibility.

Found this in a search quickly:

LG RC797T Region Unlocking Codes

Purchased two of these VCR/DVD recorders (for the ATSC-digital tuner) in March 2007 at Best Buy. They play PAL/region 0 out of the box. To enable region-free playback I used the CD-ROM previously made for my LG LST-3510A. Visit this link for the files to burn your disc:

http://aiwaownersnetwork.tripod.com/pages/lg/5000_series_firmware.html

Next:
--Power on the player and load the CD-ROM
--In a few moments a text box appears displaying current DVD region and a second line to change DVD region
--Press the number you wish (most likely "0") on the remote control
--Press "Enter" on the remote control
--In a few seconds the player will eject the disc. Remove the CD-ROM from the tray and power off

Upon powering on the player my region 2 and 4 DVD's play fine but Macrovision still remains.

OR

Click the HOME button on the remote with the unit in 480i resolution
Click the setup page
Click Start
Click TV Aspect
highlight the 16x9 wide aspect ratio
enter on remote control this coded sequence:
1397139

Edit specific "Options"

Option 2: 35 (enables Divx/Xvid playback)
Option 4: ff (enables Vcd and SVCD playback)
Option 5: ff (enables region free playback (region 0) DVD playback)
Option 6: ce (enables Insignia brand startup logo on boot)
Option 6: c0 (enables LG brand startup logo on boot)

It keeps ejecting the disc and saying disc error

1. Power up unit with no disk in the tray
2. After "no disc" shows on the front display, press PAUSE on the remote
3. Press in order: 1, 4, 7, 2 on the remote (short keypresses). A new screen will show up, EEPROM settings with a green background
4. Write down the EEPROM string for backup/restore purposes in case you screw up. My string was 55 53 00 45 02 55 64 FF (compare with the default string of the 312, which is 55 53 00 45 14 55 64 FF).
5. To enable VCD playback, move the cursor to the "45" (4th group of characters from the left; use the remote up/down arrows to move right/left) and enter "46" or "47" instead, then press ENTER to commit
6. To enable SVCD playback, move the cursor to the "64" field (second from the right) and enter "FE" instead. To enter "F" press "6" on the remote and keep pressed. To enter "E" press "5" on the remote and keep pressed. After you're finished entering "FE" press ENTER on the remote to commit
7. Press PAUSE on the remote to exit the EEPROM screen
8. Power off, then power on again the player
9. It now plays SVCDs and/or VCDs depending on the codes you entered.

The final EEPROM strings with both VCD and SVCD enabled are:
55 53 00 46 02 55 FE FF and
55 53 00 47 02 55 FE FF
(either works)

NB the replacement of 64 by FE was in the past wrongly labeled as Macrovision hack. That's not true. What it really does is enable SVCD playback. If you only do the #5 above, you'll only get VCD playback. If you only do the #6 above, you'll only get SVCD playback. If you do both, you'll get VCD and SVCD playback.

(SVCD playback was especially important to me because I have several hundreds of them - mostly TV shows recorded on my TiVo, then exported to the PC and converted to SVCD)

The other hack for the DVB-312 also works on the 412 (see the configuration screen):
1. press SETUP on the remote
2. Go to "TV Aspect" and move the cursor to "16:9"
3. Press in order: 1, 3, 9, 7, 1, 3, 9 on the remote, then press ENTER

The info showing on that screen for the DVB-412 is:

Model: Zenith ZV8020001
Region: 1
Chip ID: M3355A-B
Servo ver: S101_43180
Microcom ver: V1.50A MP
PROM: 55 53 00 45 02 55 64 FF
Factory reset... done...
(the PROM I listed above is before the VCD/SVCD hack)
