Job stopped! Problem: Job stopped! posted by wildd on 27/02/2007 This problem just began to happen. Until a couple of days ago, the printer was doing just fine printing both in color and black (except yellow, because the nozzle is dried out). Suddenly the printer would act like it was going to print and then just quit and said " Job stopped". I pressed "start job" and it did exactly the same thing again. I checked the "trouble shooting " advice and tried reinstalling the printer software. I restarted the computer and tried to print but, alas, exactly the same results. Help! Thanks, wildd

Have you had the message "parts inside your printer are reaching the end of their service life"? if so, download the SSC epson utility program,(just google it) its an unofficial program written by some crazy russian, but solves all sorts of probs including the epson inbuilt death counter, good luck!

Hey wildd, Try unplugging the printer from the electrical source for "several" minutes. Shutdown the computer too. Turn on the printer, then turn on the computer. If that doesn't work go the whole mile. Uninstall all printers and software. download the latest drivers from Epson. http://www.epson.com/cgi-bin/Store/support/supDetail.jsp?BV_UseBVCookie=yes&oid=23952&infoType=Overview This link is to the epson site and your machine. Download the drivers from here. Have you had any paper jams lately? Make sure there aren't any pieces of paper stuck or any other debris. How about the print properties, or open print jobs? what does it show when the job stops. Let me know what happens. Good Luck, Tim

My HP 4ML has been printing fine until recently. Every print job, big or small, the first couple of pages print the pages mostly black, then start to fade the more pages I print in the same print job. ...

You didn't say that you swapped out the toner.
Let's come back to that point later.

Put paper in the manual feed tray.
Print something.
As soon as the paper feeds halfway into the printer, open the top cover.
Pull out the toner, look down at the paper. Is it mostly black?
If the answer is yes....replace the toner.
Vacuum out the inside of the printer and print again.
I think you have a bad toner cartridge

I printed a report from the internet a couple of days ago. Now my printer continually prints header information (one line) over and over. It won't stop! If I load the paper tray, it immediately starts...

Take the paper out, go to control panel - printers, open your printer's folder, and choose from the menu Purge all print jobs. If you have some kind of printer status monitor, go there and look for any job that's pending, and try to cancel it. Now turn the printer off, on again, and insert paper - it should be over.

Cancelling/stopping a printing job

Open the Control Panel from either the Start menu or by opening 'My Computer.' Find your Printers and Faxes folder and open that.  Double-click on the icon of the X2500; if more than one, choose the one with a check mark and double click on that icon. This will open a 'job list' showing those which were not completed for some reason, click on it (them) and delete it from the list.

Cannot print only one copy; prints the first page only . . . over and over again

Check the menu and got to printing options, it may be that the number of copies got changed, you can set it up to where it can make up to 999 copies!!!!! why that option is on there is a mystery.
