I removed the c-media ac 97 audio driver- need to put it back- no sound..

See if you can flash the bois upgrade on the website. It sometimes fixes such issues.

if your computer came with a motherboard disc the sound drivers could be on it
click start control panel administrive tools computer management device manager scroll to sound,video and game controllers you might see a yellow question / exclamation? ! mark or a red X Right click to reinstall drivers or if you don't have a disk with the sound drivers you need download the drivers

click start control panel sounds and audio volume advanced speakers make sure you have selected the

(appropriate speakers) also audio you will find 3 drop down lists make sure you have the correct settings there

click start control panel sounds and audio devices select advanced there might be a tick in the mute box untick it

which mother oard you are using? If you ae using intel desktop boards goto www.intel.com and download the drivers.

Asrock board might use standard Intel audio drivers, go to:

and use the Live Update online featere to see if it can identify the necessary drivers, it doesnt matter what brand motherboard you have MSI sually have alot of drivers, you might get lucky

May be the driver for yur sound card are not installed....
