Just call 1-800-525-9987 and ask for Parts or Service - these guys are the sole importer of Necchi and can answer your questions - sorry i haven't found a download for a manual in english - if you want in italian is available for the 6000 series here:
http://www.necchi.it/_italiano_/scheda.asp?param=70&ID_MARCHIO=1
but the guys on the number at the top will be able to tell you the best place to get one.
Hope this helps

hi i just bought same thing of trademe and no sewing machine service person in auckland or hamilton knew what to do with it they laughed at it saying it was a silly purchase. i paid 3 times and no one managed to thread it one even wanted 125$ to 'service' it!! just stupid!! my parther however who's an engineer by trade had a good look at it and he threaded it for me and made the tension perfect. now it works perfectly. if you are in the auclkand hamilton area contact me 021538471
Place thread spool on the spool pin at back right top of machine. From there, thread through 1) rear thread guide (little hook), 2) front thread guide (front hook), 3) down and up through the thread tension dial from right to left so that thread picks up the thread spring check (the little spring on the left of the tension dial). 4) Through the thread take-up-lever, from right to left (the little lever that goes up and down). 5) Through the thread guard and guides (one on the front, one on the needle arm). 6) Through the needle, front to back. Good luck johntrev800 (at) yahoo.com
