What type of modem? A DSL Modem usually connects via the network port at the back of the computer.

Yes! it is very likely the modem, I found in most cases they were the problem. The modem board will need to be replaced with a new one.

Can't get online to play this new PS3. The console is hooked up to the TV & Belkin Wireless router. The internet, computer and phone line are in a different room and can't reach to hookup. AT&T is...

There should be no HDMI cable to router. In any situation.

Try the following:

Turn off PS3 system..
1: Reset your modem by unplugging it from the main power source.
2: After a few minutes, plug modem power back into modem. Allow all connections to configure
3: Turn on PS3 system.
4: Go to "Settings" then scroll all the way down to "Network Settings"
5: Make sure that the "internet connection" (the second menu) is "Enabled"
6: Go to "Internet Connection Settings" and choose the appropriate settings. (What's highlighted is going to be the best option, continue to hit the right button on the analog to go through the stages.)

Be sure to choose "Wireless" when configuring the settings if you are using wi fi for connectivity.

I cant get my internet to work I have a ps3 and at&t highspeed gateway modem by 2wire I tried every thing and I dont have a computer can u help

Most gaming consoles do not work with modems if they are directly connected with them, you'll have to get a router and plug your gaming console into that. However, the experience with PS3s and modems depends on the ISP. I recommend calling your Internet Service Provider and asking them if their modems allow consoles to be played while directly hookup up to them.

Contact the cable company and tell them you have a router connected to your modem - they will tell your modem to access the router for it to work.

Linksys wireless router dsl hookup

You can set up your router manually, without the CD.
Make sure that your computer is able to go online directly through the modem.
If your computer is able to go online through the modem, that means the modem is working fine.
You will need to connect the computer to the router and the modem to the router.
open the set up page of the router and change the settings of the router according to the ISP.

Can't find a port for landline hookup to an Acer Aspire 5534-1146 notebook, is there a way to connect?

What you are looking for is a modem. Most modern computers no longer have one.
You will have to get a PCMCIA card that is a modem.

How To: USB hookup for computer while having ethernet hookup to Xbox 360.

USB to PC is fine, make sure you have the original installation disk for it. Then you can connect the Xbox via network cable. There shouldn't be any problem as your modem can take 2 connections by the sound of it.
