Well your speaker runs only when a compatible sotware is installed in your computer
When you format your computer or by some reason it get lost try to reinstall the audio software
Audio software are present on the motherboard cd which you must have been provided when you have purchased you pc.
install that from cd and reboot the pc
i hope it works

Hi foxy,

If the speakers do not work, check first that audio is not muted, you find audio settings on Control Panel>>Sound and Audio Devices if there is no audio device , that will need that you have to reinstall the drivers.

If your computer is a brand one (eg Dell optiplex 1080, or IBM Activa etc.) then place a request for drivers on the free forum, giving exact model of your computer.

If the computer is no famous brand, or assembled, you will have to note down all the numbers printed on the boards inside the computer.

That is quite complicate, for a regular user it is often faster to buy a new audio card, that start from $10.

A good solution can be buying an external USB audio adapter , that costs $12 : SIIG SoundWave 7.1 Audio Adapter

Speakers are hooked up, cant listen to anything.

ok the first thing u have to check in ur windows xp desktop that the volume icon is diplaying in the bar below the screen .if not than go to controlpanel --> sound and audio devices --> place volume icon in the taskbar check this option and the volume icon will be avaliable on ur desktop.remember this option is only avaliable if the drivers is installed . than u can double click this icon and set the equilizer. if ur sound not installed than u have to install it from the motherboard cd that is provided by the manufacturer. thankx and take care of urself.

Promlem with my computers sound

Make sure that there are no conflicts with your audio device in the Device manager.

In XP:
Access the Control Panel via the start menu or My Computer.

Click on System > Hardware > Device Manager

Look for Red X or ! Icon.

Either of these will mean you should reinstall the drivers, providing the audio device has not physically malfunctioned.

Check with your Manufactures web-site to download and install the drivers necessary for your Model and version of Windows.

Let us know how that works for you,
Good Luck

Z-5300 speaker no sound

You need to install the sound drivers for your PC. go to the manufacturers website, (ex.www.hp.com) and go to the support section, sometimes called downloads also. It will prompt you for your model of PC and what Operating System ( XP,Vista,etc..) and then it will list the drivers that are available. you should update anything in "DeviceManager" that has anything except the "+" sign beside it.
