Affinity Washer: Will only display 56...Pau, Err on any button
My Frigidaire Affinity Front Load washer is stuck... it constantly says "56" on the front screen, then every few seconds it switches to "Pau", and then about a second later, switches back to "56" again. Any button that I push, it beeps three times while displaying "Err". Does anyone know what this means, or if there is some way to reset it? The roll wheel just doesn't do anything. I've tried unplugging it for several minutes, but when I plug it in again it just does the exact same thing. Any help out there??
Thanks!

our washer cuts itself on and off throughout cycles and sometimes does not cut on at all, if it is unplugged it sometimes corrects itself and other times it don't. I had this happen one time before and the repair man came out and reset the washing machine circuit board but it is happening again I was hoping someone new how to reset it to if this is going to be a frequent problem.

This was exactly what was wrong with my washer!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Stupid Easy Fix! I would recommend leaving it unplugged until you are ready to undo the plug for the door lock. This was a perfect solution!!
PAU/42 after power outage. Used a phillips screwdriver and took off the top panel (two screws in rear on top, slide back the top). Took out the screws on the front panel (about 5 screws, 2 in soap despenser). Carefully popped off front cover to expose wiring going into the control panel. Found the plug with the front door latch (red/white/black) wires (I think it was the third connector from the right). With the unit on and in PAU mode, door closed, I unplugged the connector and heard a pop (door lock), plugged it back in and the wash resumed when I pushed start. I think the door lock mechanism got stuck or otherwise not fully enganged or disengaged. By manually deactivatingand re-activating it cleared the problem. Took about 10 minutes to do. Be careful though, you could get shock if not careful.

first try the simple step, unplug unit for 60 secounds, then replug unit back up. reset load and see if that works. let me know if I can be of further assistance.
I fixed this myself and it only took about 5 minutes. The problem is the door latch needs to be reset, which requires unplugging it's three electrical connections. This has to be done inside the washer outer seal, but it is easy to get to. First remove the outer ring that holds the seal on. Next remove only the side of the seal closest to the door latch (again only the outer seal needs to be undone). With this done remove the two screws holding the door latch in place (inside). Remove the latch, unplug the three connectors, plug them back in then reassemble everything. When all is back in place hit "cancel" and it should be good to go.
Its an issue with the front door sensor and the motherboard. I had to replace the mechanism since it could no longer work. Cost me 250 and almost 2 years later its happened again
