Hi' I've got exactly the same problem with my 3200mp. it looks like it lights up, but only show a dark 8black) pictura with random spots, probably caused by dust on one of the lences. I have refitted the lightbulb a couple of times, but without any luck. As far as i can tell, the bulp works fine, but I'm not sure at all. Look forward to hear from anyone that might have an answer to this problem. Cheers, Jacob.

Did you ever get a solution to this? I am having the same problem with my 3200MP The machin will come up but only show a dim white box on the screen. I've purchased another bulb and that was not the problem. Angie Black [email protected]

I have a Dell 2300MP DLP projector. It lights up for about a minute then the light goes out. Both the Temp and Lamp indicators are glowing after the light goes out. The fan is working. Will just replacing...

Looks like there is power supply problem as well as the lamp.

1 Clean all filters
2 Check out power supply (usually a few capasitors need to be replaced)
3 Wuld be a good idea to check the lamp in wokring projector, but if the "Lamp" light is constantly on it is more likely a faulty lamp as well.

Dell 2300mp

Replacing the lamp module requires special considerations:
  1. Turn off the projector.
  2. Wait 30 minutes for the projector to cool down and then unplug it.
  3. On the bottom of the projector, loosen the two screws on the lamp cover and then remove the cover.
  4. Loosen the two screws on the lamp module and pull out the module.
  5. Insert the new lamp module and tighten the two screws.
  6. Install the cover and tighten the two screws.
  7. Turn on the projector. If the lamp does not turn on after the warm-up period, try reinstalling the lamp again.
  8. Press enter on the projector or on the remote control to open the on-screen menu.
  9. Press the up (c00589410.gif ) or down (c00589411.gif ) arrow to select Setup and then press the right (c00589412.gif ) arrow.
  10. Press the up (c00589410.gif ) or down (c00589411.gif ) arrow to select Reset lamp hours and then press enter .

Projector

A couple of things...

If the fan is not working, the lamp will not fire. If you have the owner's manual, it should indicate what the flashing lights mean. Check to make sure that the panels are seated properly. When you replaced the lamp, the outer cover was removed. If that is not seated back 100%, the unit will not work. There are a number of safety "checks" built into the unit to prevent damage and possibly fire as the lamps get really hot.

Check the items above and let us know your progress.

Dell 2300mp projector

I have this same projector and am pushing 4500hr on my current bulb. its starting to get a little dim being that the bulb is only rated for 2000hrs. There are brightness setting is the setup of the projector. There are also 4 display modes. game and PC being the brightest. You can change those with the remote. These are the only factors that should effect the brightness. I would say that you might have gotten a bad bulb. try putting the bulb from the "bright" projector into the "new" one and see if that makes a diffrence. also im looking for parts and bulbs for this model projector. If you would like to get rid of anything please let me know. Hope this helps and good luck.

Changing a light bulb?

Yes the bulb will need to be replaced. You can do a google search and find the bulbs from different vendors at cheaper rates.
As far as knowing how to change it, Dell has excellent tech support.
