Troubleshooting MS wireless optical desktop for bluetooth
When my MS wireless optical desktop for bluetooth is connected, the volume/mute box flashes on & off constantly. Therefore, I can't listen to anything since the volume comes on then auotomatically mutes itself over and over. I went to Microsoft's site for solutions and downloaded the lastest keyboard software 6.10.155.0, but the problem persists. I have a Gateway wireless bluetooth keyboard that works with no problems. I'd appreciate any suggestions since I liked to use the MS keyboard. Thanks.

Have you downloaded the proper keyboard setup application from Microsoft's site? It is at http://www.microsoft.com/hardware and you will find the software for their keyboards and mice there.
Look for "Intellitype Pro" with numerics which specify the version and/or date.
You should have gotten this on a CD with the keyboard.
you are not looking for a Flash Drive. you are looking for the radio receiver dongle. You will have to contact Kensington to purchase one but they may not be able to, you will be better off replacing the unit.
if the unit is Bluetooth, you can buy any bluetooth receiver to connect it.
I suppose there is a reset button on the keyboard or the software provided so I suppose it could be possible, I don't know. I use a Microsoft Wired Keyboard... But Best of luck.
Go to start and run then type services.msc or if using windows 7 just go to start and type services.msc in the search box. Once open find the service "Human Interface Device Access". Change it from manual to automatic and make sure that it is started.
usally laptops have bluetooth not desktops ,,,,bluetooth is not the same as wireless ,,i know they work similar bluetooth is for short distance...when u set a blue tooth mouse up u must have bluetooth usb plugged into ur computer ...that usb adapter will act as your mouse connection ......
