2. Select a radio button.
• Push and Connect (recommended). Either click the button or press the WPS
button on the rear panel of the Internet adapter.
• PIN Number. Select the radio button and a PIN displays.
The Internet adapter tries to join the wireless network for 2 minutes if you are using Push
'N' Connect, or 4 minutes if you are using a PIN.
3. Go to the router.
• If you are using Push 'N' Connect, press the router's WPS button.
• If you are using a PIN, log in to the router and type the PIN from your Internet adapter
in its WPS screen.
4. Go back to the computer that is connected to the Internet adapter, and make sure that you
are connected to the wireless network.
• When WPS is running, the WLAN LED blinks, alternating between green and amber.
• If the computer does not to connect with WPS, the WLAN LED is solid red for 5
seconds.
• If the computer does connect using WPS, the WLAN LED is solid green for 5 seconds
Then the WLAN LED returns to indicating a wireless signal.

My router is DG834G v5 and it shows a red light for internet and does not connect ,there is no problem with my pone connection as the old modem is working fine, what do i do?

I understand that you are not able to connect to internet through DG834Gv5 as the internet light on the router is RED. I would suggest you to reset and reconfigure the router using the below steps:

RESET:

1. Press and hold the Wireless On/Off and WPS buttons simultaneously until the Power LED turns red (about 6 seconds).

2. Release the Wireless On/Off and WPS buttons. The LED blinks red three times and then turn green when the router has reset to the factory default state. Wait for the router to reboot.

CONFIGURATION:

1. Connect the cable/phone line coming from Internet Service Provider to the WAN port of the router (isolated port).

2. Connect the computer to the router using any one of the 4 available ports.

3. Open a web browser like Internet Explorer, Mozilla Firefox or Safari.

4. Access the router's GUI by typing 'http://192.168.0.1' or 'http://www.routerlogin.com' in the address bar.

5. Login to the router (username = admin password = password unless you have changed it).

6. Click on 'Setup Wizard' at the top of list from the left menu.

7. Select Yes and click Next.

8. It should give you 'PPPoA Detected' and then click on next.

9. Enter the login and password of the ISP and then click on Apply.

10. Once the settings are updated click on 'Router Status' and click on 'Connection Status' button (at the bottom of the page).

11. Click on Connect button.

12. Connecting to server should show 'Connected'.

13. If you receive 'CHAP authentication failed', close the 'Connection status' window and click on 'Basic settings'. Verify the login and password for ISP and apply the setting again.

14. Open up another browser window and try to access internet.

I hope this information allows you to resolve this issue.

Check for the user name and the password for the connectivity. Internet light red only means either the user name or the password is incorrect. Try entering the password and try again it should help.

Red led

When the internet light is red it means that the connection to the ISP failed.

To check the settings on your gateway, use your internet browser and type 192.168.1.1 in the address bar.

By default, the username and password is admin.

If you have a cable internet connection:
Under the setup page, select Obtain IP address automatically (DHCP) for the internet connection type (encapsulation). Save the settings. Then go the status tab and check if there is an WAN IP address. If none, power cycle the modem.

If you have DSL connection with PPPoE:
Under the setup page> Internet connection type (encapsulation) select RFC 2516 PPPoE.
Multiplexing should be VC.
Under PPPoE settings, you need to enter the username and password that your ISP gave you. Then save the settings. Go to the status tab,
click the connect button. You should be able to get online.

Good luck!

Problem with modem

If the Online LED on your modem is red, it means that it is not synchronized with the connection that you have from your Internet provider.

Try to reset the modem by holding its reset button for 30 seconds then power it off. After 10 seconds, power it on and observe the Online LED.

If you also have a username and password from your Internet provider, you may set those on the modem configuration.
