The color and black ink indicators both show full cartridges, but the color will not print and sometimes the printer will act like it is printing but there will be nothing on the paper...black or white.
All tapes are off of the cartridges...The printer was uninstalled and reinstalled.
Actually your printhead on the cartridges is probably clogged. I usually take the cartridges out, wet a paper towel and put in a dish and put in microwave for 20 seconds, then put the cartridge printhead on the paper towel for 10 seconds, and then blot with a dry towel. You should see the various colors in the color and black cartridges. Do it several times until ink in freely flowing. Put back in printer and run a clean cycle and try printing normaly. May be you have enabled Black & White printing.
You can open the printer settings and check this.
If its not possible, select 'Printers and Faxes' from start menu, right-click your printer and select 'Properties'.
Click 'Printing Preferences' and, if the Black & White' setting is selected, select 'Color'.
Click the 'Advanced' tab and click 'Printing Defaults' and here also select 'Color'.
Click 'OK' and again click 'OK' to close the property window.
Now try printing a color document.
If you succeed, consider voting my solution.
start control panel printer and fax right click your printer, choose properties go tab by tab and look for print quality and then try something like this choose econo mode, or ink saving mode to start.
try to print in grayscale mode and use only the black ink cartridge.
that should be your new default, and you don~t have to change it from winthin other programs
sometimes theres a setting for the printer that it sets when theres only a black cartridge try and find a place where it lets you set to print black or black and color normaly thats the problem if not let me know id be glad to help
Remove the black ink cartridge and examine the print head on it - you will probably find a small piece of tape (very thin) covering the jets - usually blue in color - remove it and reinstall the cartridge.
GO TO MAINTANANCE SECTION IN THE MENU TRY TO TAKE SELF TEST PRINT.
IF IT COMES THEN GO TO NEXT STEP AND TRY TO CHECK THE INK LEVEL OF THE CATRIDGES IF THE INK LEVEL IS LOW DO REPLACE WITH THE GENUINE CATRIDGE ITSELF.
