I have a Hitachi 32" Model 32CX7B TV using the remote that came with COMCAST Digital Cable. It has been working fine for a few years and now the remote has stopped working for the TV, however, it still works for the COMCAST cable functions. Batteries are brand new and am wondering if something is going wrong with the TV. All other TV funcationality is fine...picture, audio, other input devices...all works fine, but now has to be done manually. Grant it I could use the excercise, however, I LOVE MY REMOTE...

Re: Remote Doesn't Work for TV, but Works for TV
You might have lost the code from the remote which identifies the tv to your remote. If you have the manual that came with the remote you might try entering the code again. ( reprogram

Here is the setup copde page http://universal.dev.efocus.nl/?pag=54. I didn't see that model remote listed but many times the remote manufacturer will use the same codes.... So look at other remote codes for Hitachi and see which one works.
I contacted Vizio the other day. They tell me that they use the same generic codes as LG. I have Suddenlink Cable, formerly Charter, so I still use the Charter remote. My remote only needed 3 digits and I have noticed that many need 4 or 5. I can tell you that the LG code worked for my tv. I can power on/off, volume, and change the channel. All other functions require the manufacture's remote. The code I used is 005. There was also 004 but that did not work on my tv. Hope this helps someone!
