My 2.0 GB SanDisk memory card for my Nikon Coolpix L4 digital camera is not working. When I turn on the camera it says that the card is not formatted. When I click format it says the pictures will all be deleted. The malfunction began suddenly when I was trying to take a pictured during the end of my family vacation. I returned from vacation yesterday and my family and I greatly hope to retrieve these pictures in order to remember our great times. Please help us solve this problem, it will be greatly appreciated.
You may try some memory card recovery program. you may download 001 file recovery that helped me before

If above does not work, you may have to quick format the memory card and then try again 001 file recovery program.

At least my L4 would not work with any card larger than 512mb. Try using a smaller card. Nikon may have fixed this at some time.

Pictures can sometimes be recovered by sending the card to a service provider, or by downloading software designed to recover the pictures from the card. It is not clear weather the problem is the card or the camera, however to recover the pictures from the card would be the same process. If you do not have one you will need to buy a USB card reader to load the card on the computer. Consider buying another card to test in the camera, if you so wish. If the camera is new enough also consider contacting the manufacturer for warranty assistance. David Millier Advance Camera Repair
