The image will work fine and suddenly the image bends and may suddenly go back to normal. So, no, there isn't a magnet suddenly appearing and disappearing. Any other ideas? The image will work fine and suddenly the image bends and may suddenly go back to normal. So, no, there isn't a magnet suddenly appearing and disappearing. Any other ideas?

I had the same problem with the picture bending on my Mitsubishi WS-65807. The repair man said I had a picture tube going out. Luckily mine was under warranty. Otherwise, he said they run about $300.00 each (there are 3 but only 1 was going).

I can't see the image, but the short answer is no. The line you are trying to heat up has gas in it that is minus 30 degrees. You may be able to bend the line an 1/8 inch or so, but not much.
first reset the setting to factory default. if it persists on a regular image too, either the lens, the tunnel or something else in the optical engine is damaged (from a fall?).
If you have tried to adjust the convergence on your TV within the menu feature then typically you do have a convergence problem. Check out this video to be sure...
Yes, it called ghost image. You can try to go in the service menu, and scroll to ghost image. Turn tv off, wait till red light stops blinking, and then on the remote press the input button. at the same time press the power button on the tv. this should put you in the service mode. If nervous about this call tech assist at Hittachi.
Did you also replace the bias resistors required when you converted from STK392-110 to the higher STK392-xxx modules? If I wer you I would go back to the orginal modules only new ones. Then I would also get a schematic to test the voltage levels on the chips to make sure they are the same as on the schematic.
