Question about Actiontec GT704WG Wireless Router (gs583ad3-01)
CenturyLink only uses the Actiontec GT701WG and does not support my Actiontec GT704WG. I want to keep my router and update the firmware to work with CenturyLink
the defaul user: admin and the password: password, this is when you have reset it to the factory reset botton on the back. The ip address is 192.168.1.1

If you cannot connect to the router through 192.168.0.1, do a harware reset - I think there is a button in bach and use the factory default user/password. Then just disable the wireless in setup, advanced, wirless settigs - click Wireless Off radio button. And change the password.

I have the same router. Mine is from verizon, and i assume yours is also from verizion. Please follow these steps:
1.Type "192.168.1.1" in your browser window.
2.Username is "admin" and the password is "password"
3.Click on wireless setup.
4.Make sure that WEP is on and copy down all of your wireless settings at the bottom.

if this is fresh from the box, the factory default will be (username - admin) and the (password - admin). but if this already configured by the user before, all you have to do is restart it so that it will back into factory default.
simply press the "reset button" for 10 sec...
then try to login as a factory default then configure it again
