Thanks for your advice. I ended up sending it back (which was a bit of a saga!) but eventually was given the nuvi 360 si fubgers crossed no probs.
It wouldnt turn on whether plugged into the cigar lighter or the mains. But that is useful about where the fuse is.

Re: garmin nuvi 350
If it is plugged into a cigar lighter socket, then the plug should have a small metal (usually silver) spring loaded pin in the middle. either the pin itself (unusual) or more likely a ring around where the pin comes out will unscrew and there should be a small fuse and a small spring inside the pin. These fuses are readily available - there might even be a spare in the box somewhere if you still have it.
This would usually be the cause, assuming the car electrics seem to be working fine.
If this doesn't get your gps working then please post again
Hope this helps :)

Good morning Vickie. With a device this new, I would suggest you have a conversation with the Garmin folks, e-mail or on the telephone. Here is the link: http://www.garmin.com/garmin/cms/site/us click on support and make your choice.
I solved the problem by charging internal battery using the 120V. charger that came with the unit. I was not aware, that the cord in car was not charging my Nuvi and that it was running OK. until the battery was low and quit. I have to check this cord. Peter W.
garmin are preloaded with maps for routing, never the less, you need to backup with software from www expertgps.com/gps-receivers/garmin-nuvi350asp OR drivehp.com/backup. your set may work after doing that. thanks
