SOURCE: Marantz sr 500 going to "protect" mode when on.
Change the audio amplifiers IC´s because are on short circuit
SOURCE: NO POWER - MARANTZ SR-5000
you mite not have to reset it, try checking ur fuses, it could of triped the cicrut when the power went out, normaly thats what happens unless it was a direct contact then, u mite wanna go get a nother receiver, and what i mean by direct contact, i mean like directly pluged into the wall
hope that helps
SOURCE: Marantz SR 7200
It is likely that the PA stage has developed an offset voltage in the output stage. The faulty amplifier channel can be found by progressively disconnecting the collectors of the of the power transistors until the protection fault disappears. Once the faulty channel is found the the cause of the offset has to be traced to the faulty transistor or resistor. Don't forget that if you can smell smoke or burning then there are likely to be components(esp transistors) that have been damaged by the fault.
I had a Luxman unit that destroyed 5 transistors in the output stage that was due to an open .5W resistor in the driver stage.
Good luck.
SOURCE: Do you know the remote
The stock remote for the SR-18EX is the RC-18SR - that's the one it shipped with when new. You can also use the RC-2000, RC2000 MkII, and I have an aftermarket RC-1400 that works perfectly with my SR-18EX, AND offers 15 macros instead of the standard 4 you get with the stock remote.
