After working fine for two years, I was in set up mode and something went wrong. When disk is inserted it will go through load process and counter starts, but then the word "root" appears and that's it. Any ideas?
Genno.
Can't reset the settings. There is no response from the player at all. Have checked remote battery, cables etc but nothing. Have since discovered it will still play CDs.Can't reset the settings. Got the same problem. Happened 2 months after guarantee expired. **** machine. The only good thing is the harddrive and that is made by HITACHI not Panasonic! I go Sony next time. Panasonic quoted £200 plus to fix the problem. I only paid £220 when I bought it new.
I did this, so I then went back on manufacturers web site and downloaded from global site then selecting my country, downloaded cd version which you can then burn onto disk using nero 9 (Free Trail on net) .Then just insert disk into player and it should correct problem
I have got exactly the same problem. Thought I had found some discs that worked as the first one formatted, since then all have come up with that crappy error protection message. Samsung really should sort this out.
Basic DVD, CDrom Troubleshooting wrong disk ,disk error, First Clean the lens: http://www.ehow.com/how_2036275_clean-lens-dvd.html wont open, wont close, makes clicking/grinding noises etc. http://www.llamma.com/xbox/Repairs/thompson_dvd_tray.htm
Wish I could. I have the 4600 combo and the VCR works fine. The DVD stopped working many months ago and just yesterday started working fine again. Worked fine for two days and then stopped, picture froze, and all I got out of it, is the picture is loading. Wont give me back my DVD nohow, so have opened the case and stole it back. Tray will not open at all. Trying some repairs, will holler if succesful
Some DVD players can't read -R & -RW disks. When you finalize make sure it is in Video mode not VR mode so the recorded disk will be able to work in most other DVD players. Also some DVD players only read recorded disks rated up to 1x, 4x, 8x, 16x, or a combination of these speeds.
Not sure if anyone found this solution, worked for me.
