I can boot but after about ten minutes the PC enters power saving mode. I have to either unplug the power cord or switch off the power supply to turn off my PC while it is stuck in power saving mode.

i) usually an computer enter's into power saving mode if computer monitor is not receiving any singals from the computer tower, so it has nothing do withur computer monitor(computer monitor is working fine), there is some problem withur computer tower.
ii) now try removing all the physical connections going to computer tower(back side), wall socket and replace them ....., (to avoid loose connections)
now see whether ur computer is turning on and working properly so that your computer monitor receive singals ....

Hi,
I am having the same problem . The system is starting up and th epc entering power save mode. I have a Hp pavilion f1503 model monitor. I hit the power off button on the power surge to shut the entire power off. I turn the power surge button back on. Sometimes it works. Or have to hit the power on button to reboot.

Try tapping the F8 key while booting the computer, you will get the start up menu, choose safe mode, when you log on, go to the display settings, that is right click on the desktop, properties, screen saver, advanced and make sure that hibernation is off, along with turn off disks or whatever , probably see turn off monitor after XX minutes, I make ours 15 minutes (150 computers and servers), I don't let the disks turn off. Choose always on also, not home/office. Try this and see if these settings help.
