My GE Profile Refrigerator, model PSS26SGRE SS warmed up last night to 12 in the freezer and 44 in the fridge. This morning it was back to normal. All the controls and lights seemed to be working, but

it;s probably not going through the defrost cycle or its getting stuck in defrost .. on the back of frig the is a metal cover plate . in side you will find the main board . replace it . it runs the compressor and defrost and controls tempt . this is a very common problem . the new boards are better . and they cost a litle more . mm hope this helped / feed back pls .

Your "freezer" and "refridgerator" temps are not jumping back to 14 and 44 respectively. When you change temps, they both wait 3-5 seconds before they revert back to a temp reading, not a temp setting.

Does your "freezer" make any loud or thumping noises? If not, do you hear a quiet whisper when both compartment doors are closed?

Solutions could be :
1. Servicing the coolant (might have a small leak)
2. Checking the seal on your freezer compartment (black rubber that meets the metal frame)
3. Your internal cooling fan is not operating and needs replacing (but I think your temps would be significantly higher).

Check to see if there is any obstruction (object of any kind) in the ice cube mold area. If nothing found, you will have to replace the icemaker, as individual repair parts are not available.

We have the same fridge and same problem.....our fan is freezing up. We have had to take the bottom panel out and use a hair dryer to melt the ice around the fan (serveral times!) I dont know what the solution is or why this is happeneing (we have the temp set very low).
please help.
