How to attach zipper foot on singer inspiration

I can't seem to find instructions on how to attach my zipper foot. I am just learning how to sew and don't have the manual nor can I seem to find anything online that helps me figure out how to put the zipper foot on. I know how to take the foot off, but my foot seems really small.. Do I need an attachment? I'm going crazy here trying to find help!

Here is a copy of your manual.

Most modern machines have snap off and snap on feet. Grasp the foot that is on there and push down. Then while lowering the foot, align the little bar on the zipper foot and watch it snap in. Easy.

SOURCE: I have a CG 590

From what I can tell looking at your manual, you have a snap on zipper foot that came with your machine. If, you do not have your manual and workbook, go to www.singerco.com and you can download them for free, if you click on support. All you have to enter is 590 and voila. It is nice to do it anyway because you can print it out and save a copy on your computer plus make the diagrams larger. Good luck and happy sewing

Singer inspiration. When using zipper foot. Excess amount of thread on bottom of material, very loose and loopy. Wasting alot of thread for such a some task.

Your top threading is not right, check to make sure that your thread hasn't jumped out of a guide. Totally rethead with the presser foot up, now pull thread, it should move smoothly, next put the presser foot down, the thread should barely move. This will seat your thread in the tension discs. If, that does not work, insert a new needle.

I have a singer 4552 (portable) and I am having a prblem getting the zipper foot attached. Also I am having a problem getting the design stiching to work. I can get the red design stiches to work but not...

Hi. Here's how to attached the zipper foot.

To Attach the Zipper Foot
1. Loosen the large screw at the left of the presser bar and remove presser foot (You do not need to remove the screw).
2. Hook the prongs of the Zipper Foot around the presser bar from the back, and tighten the presser-bar screw.
3. If the raised edge (zipper or cording) is to the right of the needle, adjust the Zipper Foot by loosening the thumb screw at the back of the foot and sliding foot to the left of the needle. If the raised edge is to the left, slide foot to right.
4. With presser foot down, check its position by lowering needle into side notch, making sure it just clears the foot.
5. Tighten thumb screw to lock foot into position.
When raised edge is placed to right -- adjust foot to left of needle.
When raised edge is placed to left -- adjust foot to right of needle.
