Reinstalling windows vista on a laptop

I don't know what I did to be honest but now I don't have any device drivers on my dell laptop that is running vista. So I decided to reinstall a clean install. In the process of this it is telling me no device drivers were found. Using my cd that came with the computer that has the device drivers on it I get this message. Make sure that the installation media contains the correct drivers, and then click ok. There is nothing on the cd or if there is it isn't finding it. I can't even get to the dest top. I have run diagnostics and they come back as running etc with no problems. I can't even get it to boot from the cd. Help!

I tried to reinstall using the bios and f10 function like you suggested. I still cannot get my drivers to load. A message comes up saying do device drivers were found on the os cd or on the cd that has the device drivers. Now what do I do?

Thats a bad install, reinstall the OS again, if you want it to boot from CD go into the bios and change the boot order to CD/DVD hit F10 and save settings, reboot and reinstall.

you might have to uninstall the mouse then restart your computer then reinstall the mouse and its drivers
make sure the battery is good (has full charge)also you might test the usb device for the mouse is inserted correctly into the usb port (if applicable)
click start control panel mouse you should see 4 tabs buttons, pointers, pointer options and hardware under hardware you can troubleshoot also you can select properties under driver you will have options to update driver, rollback driver or uninstall and under hardware you can troubleshoot

My laptop crashed, so I installed Windows Vista, where I had previously been running XP. My problem is: the internet won't work hard wired. I can pick up a wireless signal, but prefer the hard wire... did...

Go to your device manager and check the driver of your network card. An x mark r an exclamation point means it needs drivers. Make sure you install the drivers from the Drivers Cd that came with you're DELL or you can download drivers at www.support.dell.com

Where cain i gate audio output device installed for my laptop

First installations of Vista some times fail to detect the hardware on older systems, like my Dell Inspiron 9100 laptop. However, after running Windows Update several times automatically detects the missing drivers and installs them automatically.
Try that, if that is your case. Other than that, try uninstalling the device using Device Manager, and immediately reboot the system. Vista will detect the missing hardware and will reinstall it from its list of known drivers. As your last resort, try going to your system's manufacturer's web site and go to the Support page. Most manufacturers have a Drivers Download page.
Good luck!

Dell inspiron 8100 drivers

your audio driver is not helpful for sound card which is you install on your pc.
plaese change this driver.
all windows have different driver for different devices.
so you install the driver compatible with window vista and sound card.

Reinstalling OS

if you have this laptop to be honest if you are going to reinstall just go ahead and use a new copy of windows xp. Averatec carries no support for that laptop at all not even the bios. This laptop's drivers are all covered in vista, but if you use windows xp the drivers will all install but you get the generic brand video drivers. you are going to have to try both and see which one you like. vista will allow the computer to run normally just give the laptop an upgrade in ram to 1g and it should run great as a single core processor.

Vista to XP downgrade

If you did a clean install of Windows XP Vista has nothing to do with this problem. I infrequently have problems with Dell drivers not working but when I do its because I've installed the wrong ones. I have gone down the wrong troubleshooting path several times because the driver said it installed correctly..... I noticed that when you go to the Inspiron 6400/E1505 download page (http://support.dell.com/support/downloads/index.aspx?) you have the choice of selecting drivers from lots of OS versions including both 32 or 64 bit versions of XP. I would verify that you have the write driver versions and try again. Another alternative is using the drivers and tools CD that typically comes with a Dell. You can run that and it should have XP drivers. If you don't have the disk you can also try getting the network card running, connect to the Dell site and running their driver ID wizard to ID the drivers you need.
