Faint horizontal lines from top to bottom after an hour of use...

I'm getting faint dark horizontal lines from top to bottom of my screen after an hour or so of use. These lines remain on screen even if I change inputs (ie from XBox to HD tv to regular cable). If I power off my TV and let it sit for about 20 minutes, these lines disappear until the next time I use the TV extensively. I have a feeling it may be an overheating issue, do these tvs have a cooling system built in? I've tried plugging into various outlets around my apartment but the issue remained. Please note that these lines appear after using any of the inputs, however for regular cable it seems to take longer - any way I can fix this? The lines are not noticable over light backgrounds.

I can tell you right off the bat that is a service issue you will have to take up with sharp. Contact their operational support, they have a quick turnaround with things like that. When you call, they will most likely ask you to take digital pictures of these black lines and have you e-mail the pics to them.

Horizontal line on screen sometimes

Generally horizontal lines are caused by the panel failing, you can try a new tcon but I don't think it will help.

Faint black lines going from top to bottom when tv is on for about the first 15 min

If I'm understanding this correctly, you have a faint line, horizontally on the screen that moves vertically right? if so, It's AC noise. If you are mechanically inclined, the quickest fix is to replace your current AC outlet with a GFI outlet. Works 99% of the time. Hope this helps.

LG LCD TV - Buzzing Sound and Faint Horizontal Lines

From your description, the sound you are hearing is the inverter(s) that drive the back light for the LCD screen/module.
The inverters mounted on the back side (one lower right and one left side) of the LCD screen/module. They are under the sheet metal cover/shields.
The inverters are going out and or the LCD screen/module is going bad too.
That LG TV has only a 1 year on parts and labor from the date of purchase, but you could call LG and ask for their help for such a new TV. They might do it under a warranty, for little or no cost to you.
I hope this information has helped you.
Good Luck.

Noise and horizontal line

Very easy Fix, The problem is the cable box is not grounded properly. (not your fault) Go to the Local store and get a Plug adapter, just to change the TV plug that goes into the wall or surge protector from 3 to 2. Trust me on this....
