When this happens to me, i disconnect the vcr and remove the screws to the top cover. i remove the cover and carefully remove the tape, being careful not to touch any of the parts of the vcr. but please make sure the vcr is un plugged.

SOURCE: Tape stuck in VCR, won't eject.

depending on th einternal design of the vcr. look for the loading/unloading mech, by finding the blak rubber belt that is looped from the motor to a pully. now turn it one way. it may thak 25 to 50 complete rotations of the belt. try turning both ways, one will load & 1 will unlaod. good luck.

SOURCE: Tape stuck in VCR, won't eject.

you posted 2 different problems here...
to answer this one ". The tape is stuck, won't eject and I'd like to get it out without damaging the VCR unit."...open unit, find motor that moves tape ejector and spin that motor by hand (power off)

the other problem, "the VCR will not insert a tape. It keeps rejecting it."...open unit and fully turn ejection motor until home position is reached...this is a home sensor switch not being activated.

SOURCE: VCR tape is stuck - will not rewind or eject.

There schould be a release buuton on the rear of the machine. It's usually recessed and may be difficult to see. Press this with the yip if a ballpoint pen and extract the tape. If the tape is wrapped around the record/playback heads your only option is to remove the top cover and manually remove the tape. Sounds difficult but if you take your time it's not too bad a job.

Testimonial: "Thank you! - no button - took the top off. I depressed a lever next to the tape switched the VCR back on and pressed the eject button - it worked!"

Hi, I have a JVC HR-J658 VCR that doesn't eject tapes.

You mean a tape is stuck inside? Disconnect power and open up the cover. If the tape is stuck around the posts, free it and by manually turning the loading motor you can slowly get the mechanism to eject the tape.

VCR tape won't eject

Hello,

The reason your tape wont eject is either because, it is stuck or the tape run loose inside of it.

To remove the tape, unplug the VCR, then unscrew it open, you will have direct access to the tape, so try to plug it back and press eject, when it gets stuck, apply a little force in pushing the tape up, to the height where it is to pass out, and it will eject your tape.

If you are not familiar with such activities, i will advice you get a repairman to get this done for you, in order for you not to damage any other part inside the VCR.

Take cacre and good luck

Problem ejecting tapes getting stuck

The take up is not rewinding the tape all the way back into the shell. Check the idler, it's either worn or if it's plastic it is warped from the heat.

VCR ejects blank tape only

It sounds like the cassette is not releasing the tape so the machine can put it around the heads. This could damage the machine. Don't use it. A two dollar tape is not worth damaging your vcr. Throw it away.

Tape is stuck and I don't know how to get it out.

another way to eject tape is to turn the eject motor by hand in the direction that ejects the tape.

VCR repeatedly tries to play and eject when tape deck is empty

the tape carriage is probably stuck, or something stuck inside blocking the tape sensor.
feed a tape in and see if it does it "with" the tape too

hope this helps
