I have a Canon EOS Rebel XT camera. When you turn the camera on the screen on the back of the camera does not show what the view finder is seeing, it shows a white screen that gives the battery display, the iso on auto and the camera on auto etc. I can't figure out how to go back to the screen that shows my potential picture. Help PLEASE!

The Digital Rebel XT operates as SLRs have operated for half a century. You view through the viewfinder to take a picture. Only the more recent dSLRs have a Live View capability which lets you use the screen on the back instead of the viewfinder.
The XT does not have a live view capability. It works as SLRs have worked for half a century: you frame the picture through the viewfinder and click the shutter.
Or are you saying that you can't see the menu on the display?
There is no such button. The Rebel XT operates as SLRs have operated for half a century: you compose through the viewfinder, the mirror flips up when you press the shutter button, etc.
You can download a manual from http://www.usa.canon.com/consumer/controller?act=ModelInfoAct&tabact=ModelFeaturesTabAct&fcategoryid=215&modelid=11209#DownloadDetailAct
Try this...remove the card and battery...press all the buttons...leave it alone for 20 minutes...insert the card and then the battery...turn it on. Let me know what happened.
Im afraid your camera does not have live view so therefore you will have to use the viewfinder to take your images and view them back on the lcd screen.
