I just installed an aftermarket radio in a 93 mustang and I had to hook up the blue wire for the power amp to work. I am not an expert just passing on what fixed my problem. Good luck

Does anyone know if a 6cd radio from a 2007 Tahoe can be installed in a 2009 Ford Crown Victoria? If so please post instructions on how to do it. Thanks in advance

No. This would be difficult at best. The Tahoe uses a class 2 data bus of which the Radio is a part of and that is why they require an expensive aftermarket harness to replace the factory radio. If you are adamant about trying you would need a Tahoe harness that plugs into the radio and a crown video harness that plugs into the car. Both may be available from metra at metraonline.com. you then would need to figure out a way to re create the digital data bus signal that tells the radio to turn on (GM vehicles have not had a traditional radio turn on lead since around 19 99 - depending on specific car models) . It would be cheaper to purchase an aftermarket radio for the crown vic.

We put a aftermarket radio in a 98 turaus with a install kit and now the heater dosnt work any more

Pull the radio and check the harness on the heater controls, probably just knocked the plug loose.

2000 Ford Taurus - Installed a new radio and used the Meta 99-5716 install kit with wiring harness. After install, radio, pwr windows, pwr locks, dome light, windshield wipers, and speedomoter have stopped...

Sounds like you have blown fuses which could have happened if you accidently short circuted something while wiring up the new stereo. Check your fuses to see if any of them are blown.

What is the tool called that i need to remove the radio, in order to install an aftermarket deck?

It is a ford stereo removal tool kit, most tool trucks have thease otherwise the dealer will have one, if you catch the right dealer they may let you use one for a few minutes to remove it.

1999 ford taurus speaker wires color code

the speaker wires are the same color at the rear control module as they are at the head unit

are you trying to replace the "football" type radio?
if so...what you are actually replacing is the "remote" for the rear control unit.

See the place you bought the radio from for a "special" kit to install an aftermarket radio on this system

I have a '99 Ford Taurus with a cassette and 6 changer cd player. The radio works for a while then cuts out, then comes back on. It can play for a few hours or a few days. I recently bought another radio...

yes i agree it sounds like it is overheating. Just pull back the carpet in the trunk on the left hand side. Check all the connections make sure its got a good ground etc.
This unit is where all the power etc comes from for the headunit and speakers.
