My TV recently started begining with a Guide Plus Demonstration every time I turn it on. At the very beigning of the Demo there is a message saying that there is a pin to be pulled out of the back upon sale in order to stop the Guide Plus Demo from occuring. I do not see a pin and I have had the TV for 2 years and this never occured before. Any suggestions as to how to turn off the Demo would be great.
I have serviced lots of these, and as far as I know the CTC203 chassis has nothing like this, nor did anything made by Thomson before or since, so I am mystified. Adjustments are made with the remote or the front panel buttons using software and there are no "pins," test connectors, switches, or anything similar present on it. Usually the Guide Plus stops working entirely (which is nice for most users, as it is just an annoyance). Now if you unplug your TV for long enough for its microprocessor to reset, it will start with the Guide Plus screen. This is by design and can't be stopped without modification. Corruption of the set's internal program causing something strange like this is possible, but unlikely. (It was a problem on earlier models). Leave your TV plugged in and see if this problem goes away. If this is not the cause, you will have to take it in for service. Any demo modes can be turned on or off with the remote or the buttons on the set.

The guide plus needs to reset itself over night. But as long as you are only connected to cable it will not allow for it to reset. You need a two way splitter the cable company signal will go in one side and the outside antenna or what ever you were connected to before cable will go on the other connector. The single side connector will go to the tv. Where the splitter says 'in' you will actually be using it as out to the tv. Where the splitter says 'out' you will be using as in for the cable and the other antenna. Guide Plus is built into your tv and needs the tv to be off to reset over night.
yes U can use volume up and down channels up and down and menu key as ok key look in the guide plus is and option to turn that of just play with if still having problems let me know and I' get the steps to get rid of
Unplug the TV for 4 hours or more. This is called a 'Hard Reset'. Then plug it back in, turn it on and let the TV do it's thing. It will set itself up. Just follow the TV setup prompts. Guide Plus is a feature on the TV. Much like a TV guide showing all channels, shows, description of shows, times, etc..
