From the description there is a small loading belt slipping when it cannot complete the cycle, it will close again, usually located under the loading bay.

Thanks Gary, is the cd door at the top of the machine? and you manualy close it to play a cd, if that is the case there is a small plastic peg that the lid latches on when it closes, located to the bottom right. These pegs often break and are tricky to remove because they clip on the inside chassis, further more there are three different sizes that I have come across, I recomment you take it in for repair.

My Curtis RCD 820 stopped reading CD's. When I put a CD in it, it makes this noise like a fan motor on a computer does. How can I fix it?

this site will bring you further and can tell you the costs of making the cd lift which is probably broken, so the cd aint pushed in the holder, and often it's a whole unit, which ain't cheap

Just got this sony rcd w500c and it looks like the belt on the drive for deck A is loose also the door will not open or close I'm pretty sure these 2 problems are related. Any insights to a quick

Yes, open it up and observe what is going on and if the motor is turning the Flywheel which is also turning the capstan shaft. If this is a motor assist type transport the capstan belt needs to be having the right tension otherwise the transport can not be returned to the stop mode position to allow the door block to be retracted. If you study the mechanism a bit pull the plug and you can turn the flywheel sufficient to get the unit in stop position remove the tape and then take the transport out of the deck to replace the belt. MCM or MAT Electroncs will have the belt size you need but you need to measure and order by IC and thickness and it will then work again. A Technician can do all this for you and you will not have to worry about any details except to pay the bill. If you measure the old belt subtract 5 to 10% as the old belt is stretched. Get the same thickness also.

CD changer eject button does not work. Three discs are inside. Changer works. Good sound is produced. But unable to eject disc changer to change discs.

Inspect the tray or door to see if there is a very small hole in it. If so, this is an 'emergency' ejection hole and a standard paper clip, unfolded, can be inserted there to manually eject the tray. This is a real common problem caused by the slippage of a clutch mechanism that is supposed to protect the tray mechanics from being damaged if the tray is somehow impeded during its travel.  It must be tougher than rocket science to properly design this feature -

Panasonic microwave, when unit is plugged in, unit is ok, when opening the door the RCD in the consumer box trips, close the door and reset the RCD power stays on try to run the microwave, and the RCD...

If it goes dead or blows the breaker when you plug it in or open or close the door, then there's a problem with a door switch or door switch mount.

Even though a door switch clicks, it may still be bad inside. Its continuity must be checked.

Door switch or mount trouble can be caused by slamming the door or by opening the door while it's cooking without hitting the Stop pad first.

There are plastic mounts inside the microwave which hold the door switches and onto which the door latches lock when you close the door.

The screws on these mounts may be loose. If they get too loose, the switches will not be activated properly.

Sometimes it's a broken tab on the switch holder, allowing the switch to rotate just out of position. Other times, it's a broken tab on the switch holder, allowing the switch to rotate just out of position. This tab can be hard to see, since it is under the bottom edge of the switch.

If you or someone you know decide to look into it, we have critical information on safety, disassembly and door switches at our site, and our link is at our listing here on FixYa: http://tinyurl.com/yzjozk
