Question about Samsung SyncMaster 710N 17" LCD Monitor
I've had this screen for over a year now and just of lately it's been turning itself off. The computer (which is a mac) still works but it goes to a black screen then I get a flashing message come up which reads something like 'Not Optimum' then it says 1260x680 or something along those lines. I've tried changing the resolution in the systems preferences and tried changing the screen saver to a basic one (as it seems to go blank if the computer lies dormant). Don't know if anyone's experienced the same thing? Cheers, Rick
This is a hardware bug in 710N series, Need to get the onbaord display chip replaced by the Samsung support.

Hi Rick I have the same problem. Have you found a solution yet? I had the power supply tested, that is not the problem. It seems to go off when it gets hot. If I point a fan at it, it seems to last longer before blacking out. Pete

same u how to fix it
I have the same problem, using samsung syncmaster 510 LCD monitor.
After working for 30 minutes screen goes dark and shows not an optimum mode. set 1024 * 768 and 60 Hz.
Any suggestions
Our monitor stays on for about 20 minutes before blacking out. It needs to rest for about 5 min and will turn back on.
