Re: i dont get any sound
Many vehicles have factory amplifiers that must be activated or bypassed when installing a replacement head unit. If the factory amplifier isn't integrated or bypassed, you won't hear sound from the factory speaker locations. Another possibility is that you have a shorted or pinched speaker wire or terminal. A short at any speaker will shut down the head unit's internal amp, killing the sound to all the speakers. The RCA outputs wouldn't be affected, so the subwoofer keeps playing.

Yes....hook one up to the left channel and one up to the right.....once everything is wired up.....keep gain down on amp and turn stereo on.....turn up stereo with amp gain down to right before high end speakers start to distort......then while its playing, turn amp gain up about 1/2 way. close your trunk and hop in drivers seat....sound gd????? You might have to adjust level on amp and bass on head unit to taste.....Be careful though....pioneer subs are only rated around 300 watts continuous.....dont want to blow them...gd luck....
I have a similar problem with my 2012 civic, I hooked up my 1800w kenwood mp to my 2 12" w6s and 1 song plays and sounds great, the rest of my songs have no bass from the subs, just the car speakers sound normal so I dont know what the hell thats all about. I thought it was a wiring issue but I can play the one song all day and it sounds perfect so any suggestions? thanks in advance
try switching it to lp the from one sub if its 4 channel left + and right - this will bridge it see if you get better sound if u dont the amp is stuffed
this is caused by inproper wiring from the speakers/subs to the amplifier.. an amp will still put out power to subs and speakers when it's wired improperly but it won't last for very long doing it... 6 months is longer than usual....
If the sub isn't working, you won't get a pop. All you need is a small speaker. Don't need a sub, you just want to test the sound. I recently blew 2 subs, no smoke, no smell, no sign of being blown. Absolutely nothing from the subs.... In the past my sub locked up. You can take your sub out of the box and hook the + and - to the battery to see if you can get the sub to pop there. I believe a small box will push a sub into a deep excursion to the center of the cone. I have 2 lanzar VW12D's that just quit. I hooked a 6 x 9 up to my amp and low and behold I had sound! Try that and see what you get...
this happened to me before, try checking the ends on both sides and see if they are hooked up correctly, or look qat the whole wire and see if its chewed through or something.
hi, your amp seems to be getting power but the cables might be wrong so it's not getting enough power. the light on the amp should be green if everything is going well.
are you sure the cables are suitable for your amp?
