Connecting Alba DVD to Toshiba TV

If the TV has the red, white and yellow sockets on it you can use an adapter. It's a scart plug on one end (for the DVD player) and 3 little round sockets on the other, usually red, white and yellow, sometimes red, black and yellow, like this:Amazon.
Then you need an audio/video lead with red, white and yellow plugs on both ends like this:Amazon

Or one of these:Amazon

You could also use a multi socket scart adapter to add more scarts to your TV:Amazon

When playing a dvd the color is in b&w only

I have had exactly this problem when changing TVs. Initially I had the sVideo out cable from the Bose with a scart plug on TV end - that worked fine on old TV. On new TV, first Samsung, second SOny, got Black and white video picture. To get it to work I used a component video cable - this is a short svideo cable with a an audio cable at the Bose end. It splits into a 3way R G B cable within 2- 3 inches at Bose end. I then plugged rgb extension cables into this and TV and worked perfectly.
I found the answer to this by errr...... reading the BOse doucumentation I reveived when I bought the Lifestyle system 5 years ago.
Good luck

When playing a dvd it black and white no color

what output connection are you using? (svideo can cause this if it's not properly supported on both devices)
What format is the video stream NTFS or PAL? some devices don't like one or the other format. This issue could be linked to your dvd player or your TV so please investigate what I have suggested and post back here if you have no luck :O)

TV going black still hear sound

I suspect if you are using the DVD to play via a Scart connector , then the problem is simply that the Scart cable has became a bit slack. Try taking the Scart out of the rear connections from the DVD & the TV & then just pushing them back in again to make sure they have a good contact.

Recently bought a Sony Bravia 20KDLS4000. Sony DVD player DVD-NS575P was compatible with 3 year old Sony TV but with Bravia, the DVD image is in Black and White. TV gets color fine. Thanks for your...

Try to set your video output settings on your dvd player . I assume you used to connect to your old tv by using svideo and now you are using another connection like component, scart or hdmi.If the video output setttings on your dvd are still on svideo you will have to set it to rgb or component or else you will get black and white images..

Can't re patch tv with set top box to watch tv

Hi.

Ok here goes.

1) Take airial lead from the wall socket in to antenna in on freeview box.

2) connect short usually black airial type lead in to antenna out socket on freeview. plug the other end of this lead in to aerial in on vcr.

3) connect the other end of this aerial type lead to airial plug on the back of tv.

4) now if you have 2 or more scart sockets on the back of tv set plug in the scarts in this order.
Freeview box scart with tv on it connect to scart 1 on tv set.
Freeview box vcr scart connect to vcr in scart socket on vcr.
Vcr scart marked tv plug scart from here to scart 2 on tv
If you have 3 scart sockets on tv you can connect dvd using scart to scart socket 3 on tv.

If Tv has only 1 scart the aerial leads will stay the same as I have stated,
Freeview must go to scart socket on tv set.
leave second scart from freeview to vcr plugged in so you can record freeview by putting vcr to line 1 or AV 1.
you will need to put tv on channel (0) & tune this channel to the video play a tape that you recognise then go to tv tuning & tune tv untill you see video playing then store this on channel (0).
DO NOT USE AUTO TUNING IT WILL PUT CHANNELS IN THE WRONG ORDER JUST USE MANUAL TUNING.

Now to view Dvd you will either need to purchase A scart switch box. Or have keep unpluging freeview scart from tv so you can plug in dvd .

If your tv has red yellow white phono sockets you can plug dvd in to these, you may need to purchase phono leads.

Hope this helps.

PANASONIC TV, TH-42PX60

If it's just one video plug, then perhaps you have to set av5 as being in colour somwhere in the menus.  If you require three wires for the pictures, as blue, green, and red, then make sure they aren't in the wrong ports.
Good luck.
