There is internal damage an easy fix is to plug it into the car charger and it will only work on the charger you should have let the phone sit out and dry with the battery detatched. my phone did the same thing about 3 months ago. if that doesn't work you'll need a new phone

what dave said.......some times these kits can play up.....if you see the light on the button on all the time then you need to cut the power to the kit and then reconnect it, this should solve your problems.
I have the same phone. I have had that same problem before. What i did to fix it was to take a blowdryer (on the cool setting -not warm or hot) and take the battery out and blow the phone with it. The reason it says carkit is because moisture got into the phone somehow. Mine first started saying carkit when my friend dunked my phone in a cup of water. I hope this helps you with your phone. Also if the blowdryer doesnt work then try using a can of pressurized air.
cell phones dropped in water are no good..you will need to get a new one i can guarantee you that..there is always problems with them when they have water in them.
I had the same problem as the person in the original posting -- I dropped my phone after which callers could no longer here me. So I tried dropping the phone again, as the original poster suggested, and afterwards the problem was solved.
was there water in the sink at the time?
if so check the connections on the base if there is green corrosion on it the the damage is done you will have to find someone who will repair water damaged phones.
If no water and just the drop that caused the prob then try removing the battery while the phone is still turned on this may shock it back
The Car Kit message is usually caused by corrosion in your charging port. Yes, holding * may revive the phone, but your best bet is to get some contact cleaner and a toothbrush and clean out your charging port.
