Trying to connect 2WireHomeportal1000s to Netgear Wireless Router

I'm trying to connect to the internet with DSL after canceling my cable internet.  I already have a wireless router and a 2Wire Homeportal 1000s (not wireless) already.  I'm trying to find out if I can use the Homeportal for the modem, and the Netgear wireless router (WGR64) for wireless internet?     Is there a way to put my 2Wire HomePortal in Bridge mode and just use it as a 'modem' so I can use the Netgear for wireless access?
Also, does anyone know if this is even possible with a Mac?  Otherwise, I guess I am just wasting my time.  I've found some small info online that seems like the 2wire Homeportal does support Mac.  I have the airport card and wi-fi.      Any help, links, or any information at all would be helpful.  I'm trying to not have to go buy a whole new Wireless DSL Modem/Router.  Especially when I already have the 2 separately right now.  It's just about connecting them together! Thank you!!!

The CD is not available for installation is it necessary? I have all of the cable if the Yellow cable connects to the cable router what does the white cable on the wireless router connect to. Thank...

If the cables supplied have RJ45 connectors then they are used for connecting and configuring the wireless settings in Netgear router and to connect the Netgear to the DSL modem foe Internet access.
Most likely the color of the cables is not important.
To configure the wireless settings, connect a cable from one of the LAN ports (not the WAN/Internet port) to the LAN port on your computer. You may remove this cable after configuring the wireless settings if you want to connect to the Netgear by wireless only. You need to connect other computers to the Netgear's LAN port with a cable if they do not have wireless cards installed in these computers.

The other LAN cable is used to connect the Netgear WAN/Internet port to the DSL modem so you computers can connect to the Internet via the Netgear router.

Follow these instructions to configure the Netgear router.

I am given a set up error while trying to configure netgear WGR614. Below is the message The router is setup with the static IP values read from the computer. However, there is no Internet connection with...

You need to contact your Internet Service Provider to obtain the setup configuration for the cable or DSL modem. A LAN cable is then connected from the modem to the Internet LAN port on the wireless router.
Normally you do not set a static IP address on the router, and the wireless card should be set to obtain an IP address automatically.
If you still have problems, give me details of what configuration steps you have carried out on the router and the wireless card together with the error messages.

I am trying to configure my netgear router to work with my dsl motorola modem

You can access your wireless router by first running you ethernet cable from pc to wireless, then in address bar, type 192.168.1.1 and this will enter the wireless router's software. If it asks for username and password, try typing admin for both.

Wpn 824 wireless issues.

if you have set up the wireless connection and enable it in the router, i assume you have disconnected the wired RJ45 cable to the pc, if not do so, as the pc's ip address is still being sent to the wired adapter and needs to be giving the wireless adapter an ip address itself as you cannot have two. Either remove cable or dissable the wired network card and ensure you enabled DHCP in the router settings to automatically give the pc an ip address, ensuring that thw wireless card is also set to obtain an ip address automatically in the TCP/IP properties of the wireless network adapter.
