I have received an Evenflow PortAbout without instructions. We cannot get the carrier off the base, the pad off to clean and the handle is very difficult to position. Would also like to know if there have been any recalls on the particular seat CO12603.

Answer: To clean pad slide the elastic loops of the seat pad off of the seat shell. Remove the harness system. Cloth pad, canopy, and head support may be machine washed separately cold water, delicate cycle, tumble dry 10-15 minutes, low heat. Wipe straps, buckles, and harness adjusters with warm damp cloth and mild soap. Air dry. NOTE: DO NOT submerge harness assembly in water. To help protect the vehicle upholstery, place a towel beneath and behind the child restraint.

Need directions on how to put together the straps on an evenflo carseat

First, read the instruction manual. If you need help (in the USA), go to www.nhtsa.gov and find a fitting station. They will help you.
Please DO NOT GUESS! The harness MUST be assembled correctly!

How to lower straps on evenflo infant carseat

You're trying to unattach the straps from the wrong end....flip the car seat over and on the very bottom there is a little gold clip that pops out and you can push through the hole.

Garage Sale Car Seat

If you push down on the top of the handle you should then be able to move it. Also, to remove the straps you have to feed the bottom portion of the straps from underneath the seat up through first and then you should be able to feed through the material to remove the pad.
